Perfect setting. The site itself is tired looking. The owner is not a people person and seems quite rude, obviously in the wrong business. When my husband went to purchase shower tokens he was completely ignored by the owner who then proceeded to answer the phone and actually turned his back on him instead of dealing with him. There is... More

We visit this site frequently, this being our first visit this year. What can I say!! The site continues to offer a lovely, relaxed haven which we love. The facilities remain spic and span. The location is perfect, beside pubs, small shops etc, there is a new farmers market on a Sunday on the land next door. Very nice. The... More

Staff very amenable. Site is grass and hardstanding with or without mains drainage, a bit of pot luck where you can end up.Boss believes in a first come first served philosophy, management don't have any idea of vacant pitches, watched vans & mobile's go round in circles looking for vacant slots. Typical Irish site PAYG for showers (1.5 euro). All said... More

Great walks, fantastic beaches, brilliant pubs, ace surfing (if that sort of thing tickles your fancy) all a stones throw from your pitch, In fact you are almost literally pitched up in the dunes. There are very clean toilets and showers on the site (so clean they are almost worth the €1.50 cost). Electricity supply is fine although there are... More

Camped for two nights here in July, great facilities, beautiful beach, friendly workers, went for a swim but later found out it's got dangerous currents, so best avoided, but there are swimming beaches close by. lovely pubs, great craic and good food,

We stayed here in early September for two nights at the end of a week and a half camping trip in the West. From the 3 sites we stayed in Strandhill was by far the best one. We got a lovely welcome and the facilities were brilliant, so clean and well managed. You do have to pay €1.50 for a... More

We had a great couple of days. A few of us met up with campers and tents. The site is great and very clean and tidy. Right beside the beach so the surf was very close.Nice roomy pitch too. Views of the mountain are exceptional. Stranhill was buzzing, the good weather helped. Will be back soon.

This park has not been upgraded for about 30 years and is in urgent need of an overhaul. The toilet and shower block is antiquated. The electricity suppy to caravans is not sufficient and the electric regularly "trips off". There is no direct water connection or outlets for individual caravans and it is very much like camping in the wild.... More

This will always be our favourite camping park in Ireland having discovered it by chance a few years ago. The village of Strandhill itself has everything one could possibly want and it never fails to please. It has the best of decent dining places to suit every pocket, surfing, beach and mountain walks, seaweed baths and cycling tracks. Watching the... More

Stopped by to visit some friends who were staying in this park on Saturday last 20/7/13, We were told by an elderly member of staff who was working in reception that she would not let us through the barrier and if our friends wanted visitors then they would have to look after us themselves and come up to the barrier...
