We had the good fortune to spend a week at the Gardener's Cottage on the 1100 acre Temple House estate in County Sligo in April '08. A self-catering unit, the cottage was clean, spacious and comfortable with four bedrooms (three upstairs and one down) and two baths (one up and one down). It has a fully equipped kitchen that was... more

We spent a lovely night in Temple House in sligo. Its an old country house surrounded by acres and acres of fields. Roderick who owns the house is very welcoming and goes out of his way to make you feel at home. Its very old fashioned, bathrooms are modern though! The room we had was lovely, very comfortable bed. No... more

Temple House is very simply a gem. A rare gem at that. This is a manor house that dates back to the mid 19th century that still functions as a family home. I went with my girlfriend as a treat for her Birthday in late autumn 2006 and she wasn't disappointed. We were very impressed by the place, the food,... more

A beautiful family home and the owners were lovely. If you don't like dogs this is not the place for you. Four dogs have the run of the downstairs and it smells like it. more

What an incredible experience. It was a dream come true. We spent 2 nights at Temple House and adored it. I felt like I was staying at Manderley!! Our room was incredible. I peeked into all of the rooms as one night we were the only guests and they are all fabulous. Large, comfortable and just a real step into... more

Our family of five stayed at Temple House for six days. It is hard to describe how much we loved being there. My wife and daughter cried as we were leaving. Roderick and Helena are gracious hosts. Erica became an old friend fast. Sally the dog is like no other and we hope she lives forever. We arrived to beautiful... more

I personally cannot recommend Temple House to anyone I know unless you are a bunch of guys going for the fishing and hunting. Considering the amount of rain we had during our stay, there was nowhere to snuggle and get cozy with a book. The premises are too run down and old as is the furniture- uninviting having endured way... more

That’s disappointing to read. Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. We redecorated all the bedrooms at the beginning of 2007 and recently updated the plumbing to ensure that there is lots of high pressure hot water for deep baths and long showers. The sitting room, we call it the Morning Room, is warm, bright and spacious with an open fire...

A step back in time. I believe the largest estate in Ireland. We spent one night and it has been one of the highlights of our entire 2 weeks in Ireland. Roderick is a wonderful host, he greets you at the MONSTER size front doors and takes you up the grand staircase past the LARGE MUSEUM size oils to your... more

Temple House Estate is what you dream about when you think of Ireland. From the time we drove through the front gates, we were taken back in time. The huge horse chestnut trees greeted us as we drove by, then when we made a turn and saw the house for the first time, we were in awe. The main house... more

We spent just over 2 weeks traveling around Ireland with the Temple House booked as one of our last stops. We actually stayed in the The Lodge, a 2 bedroom cottage located on the grounds near the entry gate to the estate. It was wonderful! It was spacious, comfortable and the kitchen was modern and well equipped. It offered the... more
