This was a quaint rural accommodation in a quiet farm yard. The manor house has several B&B rooms. The owners are very receptive and accommodating. The beach is a 10 minute walk and Sligo is 15 minutes by car.

My husband and I stayed three nights in the gracious 19th century Ardtamon House. It was just perfect for us as we prefer to stay in B&Bs that have a special character and that sense of history. Here we were surrounded by family heirlooms, family portraits, lots of books, and memorabilia of a time gone by. We stayed in the... More

When you drive up the long driveway and make the last turn Ardtarmon House appears before you. A majestic old home that immediately conjures up visions of the past .It is set in beautiful ground and has a lovely walk through the fields to a beach. We had a lovely big room that accommodated the four of us (two adults... More

We stayed for 2 nights several weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed this unique property. Amazing grounds to walk and take in some nature and amazing furniture and artifacts that feel like they belong in a museum. Breakfast was delicious and hosts were great about providing directions and ideas for the area. Would recommend.

We stayed at Ardtarmon House for two nights while visiting Sligo. The house and grounds are beautifully preserved, and there's a dreamy walk through forest and fields to a private beach. I can't imagine a more idyllic place to retreat to. We felt immediately calmed by the tranquility of the house and location and by the obvious loving care that... More

We were delighted to have discovered Ardtarmon House during our search for places to stay in Co Sligo. We wanted somewhere idyllic and close to the trekking spots, most notably Benbulbin (Binn Ghulbain). We were given a huge room with a view to a lovely driveway and the garden. For breakfast, Christa, the owner's very gracious wife makes her own... More

My best B&B experience of the 3 weeks holiday- it was truly outstanding. Christa's directions were easy to follow , well worth the distance & (an essential bonus) the dog could stay with me in a courtyard cottage which was extremely well equipped. When ringing ahead, you never know what you are going to find- this place was sheer delight... More

Ok - I am going to get the first order of business out of the way! This place isn't very easy to find and you might go mad trying to find it. When I entered Ardtarmon House into my GPS it took us maybe a few kilometres away and if you want a reference point and a quick mud map... More

Stayed in the Thatched Cottage which it would appear is the best of the self-catering accommodation.A spacious cottage attached to the main house, there were two separate living rooms and a large kitchen, which made it very accommodating for meals. It was very warm and cosy even in mid-February thanks to the open fire, central heating and oil-flled radiators all... More

My wife and I left our children with her parents in Donegal and had a few days in Sligo at various contrasting places. Ardtarmon House was exactly what we wanted when we had identified a grand Irish country house with some real family history. We first saw the house from across the bay as I rang Charles for directions. We made... More
