My and husband and myself stayed here recently in the diamond suite. Beautiful room with jacuzzi bath in the ensuite. The hotel is clean and in a great central location in Monaghan town. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but it looked very busy, which I assume means it must be a popular local eatery. Loved bar under the... More

I had a meal in the Westenra recently and I was very disappointed as I expected good food, nicely presented and tasting excellent but the food was poorly presented and was not appetising. Service was pleasant but disconnected.

As we had travelled such a distance from Canada, we were granted the "Rossmore Suite" for our 2 night stay. The bed was like something from a king's court and most comfortable with the heavy brocade linens done in royal colours complementing the canopy style. The bathroom was an extremely long bathtub and was quite elegant. Packets of biscuits lay... More

Was at this hotel last night for a Debs, and being a person working in a hotel myself I have a habit of judging every little detail when I go to other hotels, and this definitely didn't let me down! It was perfect, The staff were great craic, nothing was too much trouble for them, I was on the "VIP"... More

What a wonderful hotel! We arrived to be told we would be upgraded to a suite which was beautiful and traditional. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. After walking around the town to find that most restaurants were shut we came back and ate at the hotel to which we were not disappointed. The... More

Spent a night in this hotel in August. We felt welcome from the first moment. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. Our room was large and very comfortable. The location of the hotel was great, the town was nice to stroll around in the early evening. We had dinner in the restaurant at the hotel, €27.50 for a four... More

Myself and my fiance have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and eqch time we've been thoroughly impressed. The hotel staff are very friendly and happy to share their recommendations. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The most impressive aspect of this hotel is the quality of its food. We've had several family occasions here and the food... More

Six of us travelled over from Glasgow for a stag weekend to meet up with others. The hotel staff looked after us and nothing was a bother. Rooms were great, the showers are like water cannons though so be careful, although I loved them, breakfast was fantastic and if you get the chance have the carvery lunch. Thank you once... More

A charming little hotel right in the centre of an equally charming little town. Situated in 'The Diamond' area of Monaghan, the location is superb. The hotel's facilities; bar, restaurant & nightclub are all diverse & quite fabulous, if not a tad unexpected. The rooms are a little on the basic side, but cosy & most importantly very clean.
