Stayed for two nights in July on a B n B basis. Nice location apartment clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ideal. Had dinner on the first night in the helm restaurant, which was excellent. Was very busy on that same evening, we didn't have a table booked but the lovely staff managed to accommodate us. It's a little bit out... More

We enjoyed our stay. The suite we had was spacious and included a kitchenette and a living room area, plus two large bedrooms. Our family was greeted warmly, there is plenty of space to park, and everything was great other than the Wi-Fi, which they said was "being fixed" in our area. It worked great in the pub/restaurant area though.... More

Another visit for a break last week. The appartment was superb, the food even better, and a brilliant pint of Guinness. The staff are all brilliant so friendly and they not only go the proverbial extra mile but the extra 20 miles. Looking forward to my next visit

The Helm is a great B&B on the Westport Harbour. It is not located in the very center but it is only a 15-min walk until there. The rooms are very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. One feels at home right away. The Breakfast is very good too, and the service personnel is extremely nice. I would recommend this place... More

I stayed in an apartment at the Helm for 4 nights as part of a golf tour. The Helm booked (and changed at our request) our golf outings and were very flexible when the numbers in our group unexpectedly changed. The rooms are functional, but a little bare. Where we stayed was not en-suite, but then the price was very... More

Very helpful staff, excellent food, great music , very busy with locals and tourists. Easy of access to the quay for fishing trip which is highly recommended departing from the helm. Restaurant requires reservations in the evening time as very popular, large portions great menu

I have the feeling we didn't have the best room in the Helm. Everything was a bit cranky, the couch, the beds, the washing machine leaked. It was more an appartment so we had room enough. In the three days we were there it was never cleaned. (Run by men, maybe?) But then the pub......what a place to be!! Crowded... More

My family & I recently stayed at the Helm in their self catering apartments and the welcome as normal nothing short of wonderful. We were visiting Ireland has our father had recently passed away from Cancer and the support provided by the bar & staff and the owners family was nothing short of brilliant. I would recommend this B&B to... More

Of all the places I have been in Ireland, The Helm was probably the best. The appartment was very big, clean and quiet. We had a view directly on the sea and on Croagh Patrick ! The breakfast in the morning was great ! I loved having a beer at the pub downstair and just going up to the appartment... More
