We recently stayed at the Helm BnB for a Hen weekend and we were overwhelmed with hospitality. Tony picked us up from the train station and Shane looked after our every need. The accommodation was perfect for our hen party (group of 33 ladies), the food was delish and the staff were great. Top marks for their fabulous poached eggs... More

|We booked the Helm as a base to tour Mayo and it was a brilliant choice. The apartment you actually get is spacious and clean with everything you could need. The kitchen is fully equipped and we had very good free wifi. The welcome pack was brilliant and just what we needed. The only improvement would be to add a... More

Per the title of this review, the breakfasts (traditional Irish and scrambled eggs with bacon were my selections) were amazing and I fell in love with their fresh-baked soda bread. Our room was nice, but a little worn around the edges. The only difficulty we had was that the band playing in the pub downstairs sounded like it was in... More

We booked a three bedroom apartment in this B&B. Stayed for three nights in Sept. Nice location right outside of the main town, close to the Westport house and right near water. Lots of parking available! Breakfast was ideal and they catered to our children with making eggs scrambled and fried instead of just poached. Had dinner on the first... More

stayed here from the 27th august to the 1st of September. the apartments were clean & comfortable with everything you could need, including hair dryer, iron, & all the cooking facilities you'll ever need. i stayed here with family with intentions of going fishing but unfortunately the Guinness got the better of me & the fishing was just a distant... Booked these because of the location with my daughter getting married at the nearby Westport Coast (wonderful) Disappointed with the furnishings. My mother's mattress in the second bedroom had the springs coming through and had to be turned. Continually had to ask the cleaners to provide us with basic stuff. At a cost of 1100 euros for the week, despite... More

Stayed for two nights in July on a B n B basis. Nice location apartment clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ideal. Had dinner on the first night in the helm restaurant, which was excellent. Was very busy on that same evening, we didn't have a table booked but the lovely staff managed to accommodate us. It's a little bit out... More

We enjoyed our stay. The suite we had was spacious and included a kitchenette and a living room area, plus two large bedrooms. Our family was greeted warmly, there is plenty of space to park, and everything was great other than the Wi-Fi, which they said was "being fixed" in our area. It worked great in the pub/restaurant area though.... More

Another visit for a break last week. The appartment was superb, the food even better, and a brilliant pint of Guinness. The staff are all brilliant so friendly and they not only go the proverbial extra mile but the extra 20 miles. Looking forward to my next visit

The Helm is a great B&B on the Westport Harbour. It is not located in the very center but it is only a 15-min walk until there. The rooms are very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. One feels at home right away. The Breakfast is very good too, and the service personnel is extremely nice. I would recommend this place... More
