The location of this hotel is good and the breakfast is more than adequate, however it does not compare with the other Carlton hotels we stayed in.It is at best a 3 star hotel based on the following; The decor throughout is dated ,particularly in the rooms and restaurant. The sink in the bathroom was severly cracked with dirt ingrained in the... more

Clean rooms, food was surprisingly good - better than most Irish hotels these days. overall at less than €70 pere night was very good value. I stay in hotels 60+ nights per year and would strongly recommend this one maybe for a romantic weekend. the staff were self important, but not particularly rude. more

Just back from a week-end break in the Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel. Having read the reviews I was a little anxious about staying in this hotel. I worried needlessly. The hotel is great and it is a 4 star hotel!!! We had a lovely room overlooking the harbour which really added to the enjoyment of our stay there. The breakfast... more

We booked this hotel at the last minute. It was fantastic value. The leisure facilities were great even if the pool water temperature was a little chilly. I would say that this hotel is good value. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel (room onlly rate), we did have room service which was excellent - great chowder. more

We visited the Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel on a romantic mini break on the woodies hotel break offer - 2 nights B&B plus one dinner for 99 euros per person - a simply excellent deal with so many great hotels to choose from. After initially being quite annoyed at the offhand manner in which my request to change dates was... more

I stayed at the Cartlton Atlantic Coast Hotel and have found it to be one of the very best stays I've ever had in Ireland. It's right on the Quay of Westport and is such a lovely safe place to let the kids wander - the lake just in front of the hotel was a treasure for my kids, hunting... more

The Carlton Hotel is situated in an ideal location for climbing Croaghpatrick, enjoying the magnificient scenery and a pleasant walk to Westport. We have stayed there twice in the last three months and both times found the staff pleasant, the rooms clean and tidy, and the whole experience very enjoyable. more

Outside of the building looked ok but unfortunetely once we stepped in we were very disappointed. We have stayed before at the Kinsale Carlton and the Ballinasloe Carlton which I would highly recommend so could not understand how standards could differ from one hotel to the other. Firstly they need at least two receptionists on a busy Saturday afternoon and... more
