Great B&B to use as your base for the historical Boyne Valley. Helpful team in Scholars helped us plan our day. More importantly, the hotel and grounds were wonderful. In nice weather we sat outside the hotel in the garden for a pint and chat. Beautiful flowers and comfortable setting. The several meal choices (formal or Pub) were inviting and... More

I cannot recommend the breakfast in Scholars highly enough. Just dropped in this morning on route to town and had the most amazing breakfast. Lovely buffet, with sweet treats as well as healthy options, followed by full Irish cooked breakfast, fresh brown bread, toast, tea coffee, juice, all for 10 euro each. You dont have to be a resident to... More

Small but clean and very comfortable rooms! Lovely staff! Excellent breakfast and evening meals! Lovely seating area outside with water fountains (relaxing after a 12 hour shift).. I had a good experience staying here.. Thank you.. I recommend staying here as it is in a good location approx' 8min walk to both the shopping centre in town and O.L.O.L Hospital... More

Magnificently restored to period style, this elegant Town House accommodation provides a lovely setting for lunch, dinner or an overnight stay while visiting the of gated town of Drogheda or the Valley of the Boyne. Close to Newgrange, it also offers the opportunity to visit the excellent Museum of the Old Drogheda Society, or the headquarters of the Irish Countrywomen's... More

Called in last saturday night without a booking in the hope of being squeezed in. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked so we dined in the bar. Bar Menu is not nearly extensive as the restaurant one but still lovely, beautifully presented and the staff are friendly and prices are reasonable. Will definately be back but will book in advance... More

we booked this hotel as our first stop after the ferry on the start of our Ireland but wished we could have stayed longer. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was of a very high class hotel but without any snobbishness. The food in the restaurant was excellent (which was confirmed by the number of locals... More

Brought as a treat so was unaware of prices before trip. Was treated so well by all staff that I expected it was high priced, was amazed to find out it was very reasonably priced. The food was michelin star quality, providing unexpected amuse bouche and pallet cleanser. Staff were so friendly and accomodating I would definately go again.

On a previous visit to Drogheda we had a memorable dinner in the restaurant so we booked the hotel for the first night of our tour of Ireland. We were not disappointed having been given a spacious room with a four poster bed. However the couple we were holidaying with were given a room they described as a cupboard which... More

We had a lovely stay in this hotel on 7th September2014. Really lovely atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff, and good food. The bedroom we were given was a bit disappointing and we asked if it was possible to have a different one. This was sorted immediately, and we were delighted. Everything about this hotel would make us want to return sometime again.Should also say... More

I like this place - half close your eyes and you could have flashed back a 100 years. Interesting hallways, stairs, lounge and the room are small - the 'scholars' presumably didn't have much in the way of possessions anyway. We had to squeeze around the bed but loved the character. Meal was excellent as was breakfast. First choice for... More
