I stayed at the Castletroy Lodge for only one night. It is a lovely, establishment that was very busy at the time I visted. It is walking distance to the University and the bus stop. Easy to access from the N& after the long drive from Dublin , the hotel has a good wi fi service which is free as long as you ask for the voucher from reception. Plenty of overground and underground car parking which is free, Rooms are basic but comfortable, more suited to the business traveller rather than the tourist in... More

We booked into the Castletroy lodge for a rugby game. Firstly, I found the price to be way over the top, one hundred and forty for a double room with no breakfast! Room was unimpressive, basic and very small. Toilet was not cleaned so first impressions were far from good. Reception staff fail to make you feel in any way... More

Room was quite small and double bed was tiny, in fact it could scarcely be called a double bed. Also, plastic undersheets were used which were decidedly uncomfortable. One wonders has incontinence been a problem with previous guests??!! On the plus side, the cooked breakfast was very nice. But we can honestly say we will not be staying there again.

This is not first time i have stayed at the Castletroy Lodge and it wont be the last. The Lodge has a warm relaxed atmosphere I found my room very comfortable and WHAT A BREAKFAST. When they say Bed & Full Irish Breakfast, you get just that and more.

I happened across this B&B by accident while visiting Limerick. I only stayed one night but was really impressed with the level of attention to detail. The receptionist has an excellent local knowledge and could recommend plenty of places for a night out. The rooms are warm and cosy and the breakfast is exactly what you need to start out... More

This lodge is a purpose-built money making exercise with none of the warmth you might hope for in an Irish B&B. The money saving is evident everywhere down to the smaller than average double beds and the deposit you pay on your key.
