Our first impression wasn't great -- this is definitely a European hotel, not an American one, plus the person who registered us must have had a hard day. But when we got to our room, we liked the big washroom, the beds were comfortable and the sheets were sparkling white. Well, gleaming anyway. The pub downstairs is very big and... More

We enjoyed out stay. I later lamented that we could not stop back in and see the people we met there. Food was always spot on. Facilities are aged, no question there. We would stay again. Fiona is the best.

I stayed one night in the Railway hotel and I wouldn't want to stay any longer than that. From the outside the hotel looks quite impressive and the location, across the street from the train and bus station, is ideal. Once you go inside you soon realise this hotel, built in 1871, is in desperate need of updating, the carpets... More

Had lunch here the other day and I regret every moment. The waitress who served us was very rushy even tho there only seemed to be a few locals in the bar area. Her whole attitude was unappealing and it seemed as she just couldn't give a toss. She never came through the meal to see if we were alright... More

Good location close to train and bus station, pubs restaurants shops all nearby. Unfortunately room was cold and no hot water. I think this hotel doing good business so they're not bother about each and every guest. For me it was one night stay and I am happy to leave early morning.

I went to my cosins wedding in the rather Grand setting of the Strand Hotel in Limerick and the guests must have taken up all available rooms. So by the time I realised my short break plans almost no hotels had rooms. I searced hard and saw the hotel location was right by the main station literally across the road.... More

The single worst place I have ever stayed. Cannot begin to imagine why anyone would enjoy staying here. If it was possible i would give it a negative rating out of 5 it really was that terrible. Hard to believe that anyone who gave this hotel a good review are not in some way connected with the hotel as it... More
