There are many reasons why Desmond Lodge is #1 but the best is Bridget. What a lovely lady. We arrived late and were welcomed as if we were family. Bridgets home is beautiful, extremely well decorated and cared for and extremely welcoming for guests. Because we were late Bridget phoned the pub to make sure the Kitchen would stay open... more

Desmond Lodge is a fantastic B&B in a gorgeous location with one of the most wonderful women we have ever met as a host. The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is incredible, and the location is so beautiful and refreshing it will make you want to retire in Ireland. Only a short 15 minute drive from Limerick City,... more

We couldn't agree more with the other reviews. The stunning location of this B&B is matched by the hospitality shown by Bridget! My husband and I and my 80 year old mum stayed there for two nights during a week's stay in Ireland and it was the best of all the places we stayed. My mum hadn't been to Ireland... more

Some college friends & I spent a week touring Ireland, and we had each chosen a few nights to be responsible for lodging. Well the minute we showed up I became the hero of the week; the house and the view of Lough Gur are amazing. We were a bit late but Bridget welcomed us like family... she made a... more

From the friendly Irish welcome to the fantastic breakfast where nothing is too much trouble she really is the hostess with the mostess. I have been coming to this part of Ireland since a child I am now the tender age of 45 always wanted to stay by the lake - finally done it - not disappointed. You just cant... more

Wow. We wanted to stay an extra night or week even! The reviews here about the location and especially of Bridget are all true. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and it was a real sad parting when we said our good byes. The beds were the most comfortable we had experienced and the room we... more

We stayed in Limerick because my sister had a horse riding tournament. Bridget was very helpful from even before we arrived. She provided a travel cot for my baby. I was allowed use the kitchen when I needed. Her breakfasts were very tastey, wide variety and served any time you like. Beds extremely comfortable and the rooms are spotless. The... more

We stayed for one night in August to attend a tag rugby festival in Bruff. Bridget the owner was fantastic from dealing with the booking through to picking us up from the club house late at night and cooking an excellent Irish brekkie the next day. The place itself is very nice and the rooms a decent size. I thoroughly... more

My Parents and I stayed for a night in July in Bridgit's lovely B&B. We were so glad we'd chosen it as the location was fantastic, the rooms were really cosy and spacious and the breakfast choice was extensive and really tasty. Brigit herself was the ultimate hostess, leaving us to have our breakfast and then later sitting with us... more

Bridget the hostess was fantastic, so friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay was fantastic. Breakfast was lovely-great choice of continental and Irish! The rooms were really spacious (ours had a double and single bed, ensuite with a very large walk-in wardrobe!) and very clean and had all the facilities... more
