Great place, can safely say the best hostel experience I've had. Worth a visit to see the amazing wooden furniture alone. Seámus & Ita where really sound. The surrounding area is beautiful and worth a visit especially if you like mountain biking. John & Aoife

On arriving at the door the welcome was incredible warm and friendly. The reception area is typical of the place in general bright and comfortable. The dorm was huge and at the same time private. Go and see for your self. It is worth a visit. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Would have been very happy hanging out there however... More

My partner and visited Ballyhoura on a flying trip for a wedding. We decided on the budget accommodation option as it was only for one night. We were blown away by the level of comfort and welcome we received. The hostel really is much more like a home than a transient dorm. It is exceptionally clean and very comfortable. We... More

If your looking for a great place to stay for whatever reason in the Kilfinnane/Ballyhoura area then you won't find a better place than this hostel of hostels. The friendly, easy and relaxed atmosphere generated by Séamus & Teresa was amazing. I was staying for the weekend for a local wedding and the attentions of the hosts was second to... More

This place is more home than hostel. The quality is fantastic down to the very last detail. Stayed for a wedding locally. The hospitality was fantastic from Séamus and Theresa as it was from everyone in the town - it's a very friendly place. As hosts go Séamus and Theresa welcomed us like old friends and kept us entertained. It... More

We had an absolutely brilliant weekend in the hostel- perfectly clean, delicious food, comfortable beds and a post-biking sauna to top it off. Seamus and Theresa knew all the local tips and things to do, and really went out of their way to make us feel at home. Oh, and there's an amazing open fire in the living room too.... More

Stayed here for a weekend with a large group of professionals on the hunt for an adrenaline rush! The pictures scarcely do the hostel justice. The smell of the timber fire in this top class lodge set the scene right from when we arrived. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating. Great value for money. A spotless, comfortable, homely... More

Great value for such a beautiful location and hostel. All wood furniture Seamus imported himself from Indonesia absolutely beautiful. Stayed here due to location close to Mt. Biking. The beds, beautiful linens and new showers were such a nice treat after a day of mountain biking. Fell asleep in front of cozy fire a few times. Great small town everything... More

Stayed in Ballyhoura Hostel for the Enduro bike race. Booked for the location and was absolutely shocked at the high standard of the hostel - rivals hotels I've been to. Clean, spacious, comfortable and even has a sauna! Séamus and Therese were wonderful, accommodating hosts and were able to recommend me a some great bars in the area and a... More

Stayed at Ballyhoura Hostel for two nights in June. Was very impressed with every aspect of the hostel, I hadn't stayed in a hostel since my travelling days in Australia and this was like a five star hotel in comparison. Everything is brand new, beds extremely comfortable and dorms very clean and spacious. Kitchen is fully equipped, roomy and walks... More
