We had an absolutely brilliant weekend in the hostel- perfectly clean, delicious food, comfortable beds and a post-biking sauna to top it off. Seamus and Theresa knew all the local tips and things to do, and really went out of their way to make us feel at home. Oh, and there's an amazing open fire in the living room too.... More

Stayed here for a weekend with a large group of professionals on the hunt for an adrenaline rush! The pictures scarcely do the hostel justice. The smell of the timber fire in this top class lodge set the scene right from when we arrived. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating. Great value for money. A spotless, comfortable, homely... More

Great value for such a beautiful location and hostel. All wood furniture Seamus imported himself from Indonesia absolutely beautiful. Stayed here due to location close to Mt. Biking. The beds, beautiful linens and new showers were such a nice treat after a day of mountain biking. Fell asleep in front of cozy fire a few times. Great small town everything... More

Stayed in Ballyhoura Hostel for the Enduro bike race. Booked for the location and was absolutely shocked at the high standard of the hostel - rivals hotels I've been to. Clean, spacious, comfortable and even has a sauna! Séamus and Therese were wonderful, accommodating hosts and were able to recommend me a some great bars in the area and a... More

Stayed at Ballyhoura Hostel for two nights in June. Was very impressed with every aspect of the hostel, I hadn't stayed in a hostel since my travelling days in Australia and this was like a five star hotel in comparison. Everything is brand new, beds extremely comfortable and dorms very clean and spacious. Kitchen is fully equipped, roomy and walks... More

Stayed here at late notice for a mountain bike event in the area! They have all the facilities you need - free bike wash, secure bike shed and a place to dry all your wet clothes! Its great to see a facility that caters for mountain bikers and families. Have to say the hostel is a wonderfully clean place. Seamus... More

Stayed here for a night to go mountain biking at Ballyhoura. It was great being able to leave the bikes in secure storage. The dorms were lovely - nice wooden furniture and the most comfortable mattresses I've ever seen at a hostel. We used the kitchen facilities which had everything we needed and the lounge was nice and relaxing with... More

Really happy you enjoyed your stay and glad to hear you'll be back this way soon. My logic behind the Wi-Fi not being in the bedrooms is purely to get people out of the rooms to mingle with each other and not to disturb people resting in the dorms. I'm still arguing the toss in my head!!! But I do... More

You never know what to expect when booking a hostel, so this was above all expectations! When we arrived at the new Ballyhoura hostel it felt like coming home, Seamus made us feel welcome straight away and the place was brand brand new, the sign outside changed from "opening soon" to "now open" while we were there! As a cyclist... More

Stayed in Ballyhoura Hostel about a month ago on a cycling weekend and our four kids are still talking about it as they best place they've ever stayed! We all loved the friendly, relaxed, cosy atmosphere and Seamus couldn't do enough to make our stay so pleasant. It really is home from home. The rooms are immaculate, the showers spick... More
