Stayed here in early May for just one night. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Spacey and brand new modern facilities. Great location for all kind of outdoor activities in the area. Think the beds was the best thing, so comfortable and cosy.

I really recommend Ballyhoura Hostel! It's so much more than just a place to stay. Seamus and Teresa are incredibly warm and fun and funny, and they really do want you to have the best time you can possibly have - and they'll go out of their way to help make that happen, if they can. The mattresses were so... More

Seriously the best hostel I've ever stayed at, not just in Ireland, but in Europe and the US. Seamus and Teresa are such great hostel owners. Really took care of everyone. The hostel is clean, bright, cozy, and warm. The giant room that we stayed in were so comfortable. The beds were great, there was even a little shelf area... More

My stay with Seamus and Teresa at the Ballyhoura Hostel was absolutely perfect. They are the kindest, happiest people in all of Ireland. The breakfasts they lovingly prepared were delicious, the beds they made we clean and soft and white, the fires they stoked were very welcome after a blustery Irish day. I felt very pampered and cared for. If... More

I can't recommend ballyhoura hostel and the whole town of Kilfinane highly enough to convey what special places they are. The hostel is immaculate, with hand crafted carpentry by Seamus, plus a daily fire in the fireplace and a well equipped kitchen to make your own food if you want. Seamus and Teresa could also cook up an Irish breakfast... More

Stayed there for 2 nights and I can't recommend it highly enough. Seamus and Teresa were so friendly and welcoming. The place is bright, clean and comfortable. I requested a gluten free breakfast at the last minute and they rustled it up. The lounge is big and comfortable, there's board games and homemade stew if you want it.

Loved staying in the Ballyhoura Hostel, is much more than a hostel, more like a boutique hotel. Beautifully laid out, modern and stylish with great facilities and welcoming atmosphere. Attention to detail is top notch, would recommend it above local hotels. Seamus and Teresa really looked after us, felt like staying with friends, the lounge is so comfortable and the... More

This hostel is the perfect place to stay in what feels like a little-known corner of Ireland. Seamus is a wonderful host and very laid-back, while Teresa kept smiling depsite being overrun with breakfast orders! I guarantee that you won't have slept in a more cofortable hotel bunk than the ones at Ballyhoura and all facilities are great. Showers were... More

Honestly, this is everything you'd want in a hostel - clean, thoughtful, well-equipped kitchen, delightful hosts, fantastic location and superb communal areas. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the room was spacious, airy and warm. The sitting room has a lovely fire, and for people who've been out and about all day, there's even a drying room and a sauna.... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2014

I stayed here for one night in November 2014 with a group of 6 friends. We were all very impressed with the quality of finish and craftsmanship to be found in every part of this hostel. The kitchen is modern and well equipped and the dinning room and its massive carved wooden tables are excellent. The living area downstairs is... More
