Staying in Ballyhoura Hostel is more like a B&B experience than a hostel experience. The building is immaculate, beautiful solid wood furniture and very friendly and genuine owners. It's also the perfect base for biking the local bike trails with secure lock up and drying room. And don't forget the sauna and comfy sitting room with open fire.

Stayed at Ballyhoura with a group of buddies for a weekend. The hosting was far beyond the norm for a hostel and was more akin to a guest house with dinner and breakfast laid on by request. Séamus and Theresa go the extra mile and take the time to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Great facilities... More

I stayed here with a group of friends for a weekend in February. The hosts Seamus and Theresa had arranged food for our arrival late in the evening which was most welcome after driving down from Dublin. The next day they arranged for a guided tour of the lovely Ballyhoura mountains by a very informative and friendly guide. That evening... More

Had a lovely 2 night stay here with a few friends - this is so much more than your average hostel. Everything is so fresh and new, beautifully hand-crafted wooden furniture, a well stocked kitchen, sauna and the coziest of fires. Séamus and Teresa were great to help with all the local info. which ensured our stay was hassle free.... More

Ballyhoura Hostel is located in the heart of the most quaint, lovely town, and is very close to the many walking and biking trails in Ballyhoura Country. The hostel is definitely a step up from your typical hostel without being too expensive. The beds are extremely comfortable, and I left the weekend feeling super well rested even after days full... Comfortable beds, great showers, good cooking facilities and a lovely warm fire in the lounge. Ballyhoura Hostel ticks all the boxes. A great base for hiking and mountain biking in the Ballyhouras, the hostel has a drying room for your wet gear and fabulous dining room where you can relax over a well deserved dinner.

Had a great weekend at this hostel in February. Seamus and Teresa who run the place are very friendly and accommodating, eager to offer advice about things to do and to just stop and chat. They made dinner for us and the bacon and cabbage was delish. The facilities are of a very high standard extremely comfortable. Its in the centre... More

A great hostel - great bunks, great showers & toilets, great kitchen facilities. Really nicely refurbished too. Run by lovely people - Seamus & Theresa - who go the extra yard for you and make you feel valued as a customer. Happy to recommend to any traveller.

Excellent place to stay! As hostels go this is definitely 5 star. Really clean, friendly, a traditional feel with mod cons. Owned by really friendly, helpful staff, can't fault the place, will definitely try to come back.

Beautifully decorated, especially the open fire and hand-crafted wooden furniture. Great facilities including well-stocked kitchen and sauna. Perfectly clean. Cozy bedrooms. Close proximity to mammy outdoor persists. Lovely owners!
