My husband and I loved our stay at Abbeylodge. The room was huge, exceptionally clean and well appointed. The breakfast was standard, but good. The self-service station with fruits, yogurts and cereals was a nice touch. I would have liked this B&B just based on the room & location alone, but Rosie really makes the stay worthwhile and over the... more

I traveled to Kilkenny with my parents (in their 60s) and sister (we are in our 30s). We all loved Abbeylodge! We arrived in Kilkenny at the perfect time--the night the town was welcoming their hurling team home from another All-Ireland victory. Rosie greeted us warmly on our arrival and filled us in on all the details of the town... more

Thank you to Rosie for a great time! Our room was so big and beautiful! B&B was very modern and only a 5 minute walk into town. more

This was really a nice place to stay. Rosie has a great eye for design, with the result being a very hip, trendy B & B. At the same time, she's incredibly welcoming and friendly. When we arrived, Rosie showed us to our room (nicely decorated & good sized, with a large bathroom and a great view), and proceeded to... more

Abbeylodge offers very nice rooms and a great breakfast. Rosie is very welcoming and hospitable. She also gave some great advice for dinner. She comes from a family of B&B owners, so she knows how to do it right. Very comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. The Irish Breakfast was great. The location is just a short walk away from some... more

The Abbeylodge is a very nice B&B with an excellent location. It is an easy walk into town, but its location on the outskirts makes it quiet. We stayed in two rooms. The family room had four beds and was large and very comfortable. My boys loved it on first sight! Our double room was a bit small given that... more

I stayed with three friends at this friendly and stylish place, well-located in Kilkenny in August 2009. With spotless clean and tastefully designed rooms, we were welcomed by the friendliness of the owner, providing us with tips of traditional music spots and good-valued restaurants nearby. The helpfulness extended to not only good breakfast and random chit-chat, but to also included... more

We were made to feel welcome by tea or coffee and cookies as soon as we arrived. The owner sat down with us and answered our questions. She was so nice to us and the rooms were comfortable, clean and met all of our needs. I mentioned that I wish that B&B's had coin-operated laundries. She told me that she... more

Kilkenny is a very interesting city. Its medieval castle sits on one end of town, and lots of the old houses, buildings, cathedrals, copperstone streets and old city gates spread out all over the two main streets. Everything blends in nicely to make a charming city that captivates its visitors. It also has all the nicety of a modern city:nice... more
