The 'hotel' has No lift, which is horrible if you have some luggage. There is no internet connection on the room. The old guy in the reception was so rude when we asked about the internet, and said: It is what it is and that's it. Really far from the city centre. No deals for guests. The breakfast was poor... When we entered the hotel, it was dark & there wasn't a front desk staff. We had to call the owner for help - there was a sign with a phone number. He was quick & helpful when we called. He even offered a different room so my mom didn't have to walk up stairs. We didn't eat in the... More

We reserved this 'hotel' as I had to be in Kilkenny for two concerts in which my son was playing in August, following a chamber music course in Kilkenny college. We arrived (my daughter and I) at approximately 5:30 p.m. It is very much as your previous reviewers have stated. Ted, greeted us in a friendly manner, but demanded payment... More

For 40 Euros for a double room (50 with breakfast) you can't really go wrong. The room was large and clean and comfortable. The breakfast was OK but nothing to rave about. plenty of parking though a bit far to walk into town. Parking is free at night so driving in was no problem. Ted the owner was a bit... More

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel right at home. The owner checked us in and gave us all the information required to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. The bar was tastefully decorated and very welcoming. We would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay if... More

On arrival to the hotel I was looking for tickets to the local head to head hurling match which sold out. In true irish fashion the owner of the hotel got me tickets. Besides the great welcome to the hotel, it has a truely irish atmosphere between the banter and craic with the barman and other guests. The rooms were... More

TED! The man. The legend. Great welcome. The room had everything you needed. Ted looked after the breakfast as well, which had breads, cereals, juices and fry. We even got offered juice on checkout. Taxi was cheap into town.

Was looking for a bed for one night. It's just outside of the downtown Kilkenny core which was good as downtown roads are very narrow and difficult to navigate. Rooms are basic. No elevator. Has a pub that will make up a sandwich if asked.
