A very warm welcome and great local information from the helpful proprietor. The room and beds were comfortable, and the breakfast delicious. Our room overlooked the back garden, which is delightful. A very hospitable B&B at a very reasonable price.

We stayed 3 nights in a peaceful back room, not huge, but comfortable. It was great to be away from the town, but only 5 minutes drive from the castle etc. Marie is a friendly hostess and ensured we had all the service and information we needed. The family has a love of animals, so you may see a small... More

This was a while ago (2006). Just writing it now because recently became familiar with trip advisor. I had booked the B&B through Gulliver Booking. Because of a flight delay, we arrived at the house late evening (6pm or so). We were abruptly and rudely met by the owner who acted as if we were interlopers - asking us what... More

I always read Trip Advisor where ever I travel to BUT never make any judgement till I have been myself.....the bad reviews do NOT hold any substance to this property what so ever. I stayed 2 nights in this B&B with my boyfriend as we were travelling around Ireland on the motorbike & could NOT fault Marie & Pat or... More

Marie, the proprietor, is as warm and friendly as you could possibly want. She makes you feel right at home and welcome as soon as you meet her. The room was quite nice as was the breakfast. Molly (the dog) was a joy but not intrusive. Got great travel advice and the location is great.

We have just stayed two nights at Lichfield House and were very impressed by the warmth and hospitality of the owners. Marie and Pat were very helpful, even picking us up from the train station and we felt very comfortable during our stay. Our room was spotless and there is a big garden to relax in. The house is a... Lichfield House was our first B&B stop on our tour of Southern Ireland. After being lost on the backroads of the Wicklow Mountains all day, we called the B&B, lost at a nearby gas station. The owner told my husband that the policy was to check in by 7pm (it was 7:50pm when we called). He apologized, explained we'd been... More

This B&B is just outside of the city of Kilkenny, so you will need a car to drive in, but the space was welcome after driving the wild Irish roads. Rooms are very clean and hostess was very helpful. We especially enjoyed the ability to sit out the back on a large lawn and decompress and plan for the next... More
