The hotel is very close to the city centre and was therefore ideally located. It was literally a couple of minutes walk to local bars and restaurants, a very easy stroll but far enough away not to be disturbed by noise. It is a hen and stag party town at weekends so it is important to choose a hotel in... More

Hotel and bar staff were all very helpful and friendly throughout the stay. The rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable. Nice choice of good quality food in the hotel itself. Great central location also.

Only check out this morning and I have to say I was less then impressed as a person that works in the hotel industry for a number of years. On check in I requested a room at the back of the hotel and the receptionist didn't know where the rooms were allocated she moved rooms with an interconnecting door and... More

The Pembroke was a small little boutique hotel and very nice. We stayed several nights and spent lots of time in their comfortable bar. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable. The Kilkenny Castle was a short walk away. The only thing I could suggest is more parking.

Stayed in the Pembroke hotel last weekend on the back of a cracking deal obtained on the hotel website many months ago. Was very well looked after on our arrival by Courtney who also gave us plenty of help and guidance about the Arts Festival which was one while we were there. The hotel had been very good to remember... More

Air conditioning! One of two hotels we stayed at that had air conditioning! Perfect. Loved this place, wonderful staff, the restaurant was delicious, room was immaculate, and we had a wonderful view of killkenny castle. It was in a perfect location, easy to park our car and really I have no complaints. Most excellent place to stay.

Stayed here with my mum for two days, we both had a lovely time. Courtney checked us in and had our room ready early as promised. Our room had a lovely view of the castle, the beds were very comfortable and it was a treat to have bath robes and sleepers. Breakfast was buffet style and all the breakfast staff... More

We stayed here last year during the Arts Festival, and liked it so much that we stayed here again this year. It is well located in the very centre of town, with free parking - albeit that the overflow park is a (very) few minutes walk away. The rooms are large, comfortable, well equipped and clean ... and an excellent... More

The measure of quality of a hotel breakfast is not the bacon, although many hotels will focus on this and try to convince you that their bacon was smoked only ten miles away and so must inevitably be tastier than anything anywhere else. It is the quality of the grilled tomatoes, they must not be smothered in oil, nor just... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
You have discovered the Pembroke Hotel, Kilkenny’s favourite boutique hotel, a relaxed oasis in the heart of the old city quarter. The 4 Star Pembroke Hotel is situated on Patrick Street, Kilkenny’s most exclusive street right in the centre of a city that is rich with medieval heritage and alive with a vibrant arts culture. With 74 comfortable, spacious, airy bedrooms, its Stathams Bar and Stathams Restaurant and a dedicated business centre, the Pembroke Hotel offers a peaceful welcoming charm with quiet luxury and comfort at its core. You will feel truly comfortable in this warm and friendly hotel where you are assured of a restful sleep in the heart of the city. Surrounded by Kilkenny’s most famous landmarks including Kilkenny Castle, Butler House and Gardens and the National Craft Gallery it is fitting that we take our name from the Earl of Pembroke for whom Kilkenny castle was built. Creativity flows through everything we do at the Pembroke Hotel, from our modern interior to our fresh imaginative food, so it is natural for us as a patron of the Butler Gallery to showcase a selection from their permanent collection. Whether your visit is for business, pleasure or celebration, we look forward to warmly welcoming you and to providing you with our thoughtful, naturally attentive and caring service in a relaxed atmosphere where you will feel safe and cared for. Quite simply – we are committed to looking after our guests. ... more   less
