Of the five B&Bs were stayed at during our recent trip, Carriglea House was by far our favourite. Josephine is a fabulous hostess, one that others we encountered could definitely learn from. Very nicely decorated common areas and a well appointed room and en suite. Comfy bed and fluffy, clean linens. Excellent breakfast including home made muffins and fresh fruit... more

Our stay at Carriglea was a wonderful beginning to a 2-week Ireland vacation. It was clean, comfortable and reasonable and the breakfasts were a wonderful start to our day. It's also a block away from the Kilkenny Castle! We would definitely recommend this B&B to other travelers. more

It is difficult to add anything to the other reviews. Really a great location with good parking and a nicely sized bedroom. However, the bathroom was probably the smallest that we encountered on our recent trip. What stood our was the friendly, relaxed atmosphere, excellent hosts ... and then the breakfast. Without any doubt the best breakfast that we've had. more

Josephine was one of the best hosts we had on our Irish honeymoon. She was very helpful and answered any question we had. House was very clean and spacious, as was our bedroom. location was fantastic - 5 min walk into town, to the castle. If you're in Kilkenny, you have to stay here! more

My sister and I stayed with the O'Reillys, back in 2006. It was Census Night and it was a big dilemma as to whether it would be too much trouble to have guests that evening, thank goodness they relented as long as we filled out the census papers. As our father was Irish we thought we should definitely fill them... more

This was one of my favorite B and Bs during our July trip to Ireland. It is a lovely house with nicely deccorated rooms, a comfortable living room with books and tv and a beautiful dining room and wonderful breakfast. The O'Reilly's are lovely people, some of the most memorable hosts we met during our trip. This B and B... more

We spent one night here while visiting Kilkenny. It's in the perfect location and not hard to find. The room was average sized and had a hot pot and tea and cookies. Breakfast was very complete and we both had the Irish breakfast, which was delicious! It is served in a very beautiful room with a lot of antiques. It... more

This was without a doubt the best bed and breakfast we stayed at during our trip to Ireland. We just adore Mrs. O'Reilly. It was perfectly located, 5 minutes stroll to town. We also enjoyed exploring the grounds of the castle which is literally across the street. You MUST stay here! more

Great location, spotlessly clean, and very gracious hostess. During our three-day stay, we had excellent breakfasts, a very comfortable room (bed was very good), and a pleasant sitting room. With only a short walk to town, this was a great place to stay. We were asked on one night if we could park our car in a way that would... more
