This has been the best B&B experience so far. This as close as one can get to the hotel quality of accommodation without staying in a hotel: lovely, spacious, rooms full of light furbished with taste and style, clean, close to to town (5-10 min walk).

We spent several nights at the Carriglea House two weeks ago. It is a beautiful property hosted by a delightful and very helpful family. It is well located for sightseeing, hiking, day tripping, and relaxing. The icing on the cake is the front lawn where you can sit and relaxing while looking at the lake and mountains. When I go... Warm welcome by a very nice couple, in a private family house. Very comfortable room, with a continental shower (you’ll get it when you try it!), and great freshly cocked full Irish breakfast. Also ideally situated, at short walking distance from the town centre and with a private parking.

Josephine is a wonderful hostess who will go the extra mile. She got up early on our last day to cook breakfast so that we could make our flight from Dublin. The location is perfect and the room and beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Upon entering the front door, we could tell we would love our stay at Carriglea. Everything is warmly decorated and the rooms are bright and clean. Our room looked out on the street, but was nice and quiet, even with the windows open. Josephine and Tony were very gracious and gave great suggestions on where to dine/have a night out.... More

We stayed here for our first 2 nights in Ireland. The host and hostess were so welcoming. I loved the easy short walk to Kilkenny city central for easy shopping and dining, but just far enough away from the hub-bub. The breakfast was awesome. Two of us split her Authentic Irish breakfast and had more than enough to eat. The... More

We had a very pleasant stay at Josephines. Even we arrived the wrong day it wasn't a problem at all. We were warmly welcomed by Josephine. Our nice and bright room was beautifully designed, very clean and with a view into the green. The breakfast was stunning with fresh fruit of the garden, homemade flapjacks and the best tea we... My husband and I stayed here our first three nights in Ireland. We arrived somewhat earlier than the normal check in time, but this was not a problem. The room was quite large for a B&B and everything was in excellent condition. It is located right off the main road, but our room was very quiet. There is off-street parking... More

Carriglea B&B was the first B&B we stayed in during our trip to Ireland. We did not arrive until 7PM and since Josephine had a commitment that evening, we were greeted by a Tony. He did a wonderful job of making us feel right at home, offering suggestions where we could get a good dinner - he didn't steer us... More

This B&B was our first B&B experience in Ireland, and it was the best. Josephine is a delightful host and runs an impeccable business. The house is about a hundred years old and in excellent condition. It is also well cared for - no chipped paint or dripping faucets. You can tell that they are serious about offering a perfect...
