We had a wonderful stay at Dunromin B&B in August 2014. Val was an amazing host - giving us the best advice on where to eat and where to go to listen to live music etc (we ended up with story telling at a pub, then dinner at Bollards - divine). The room was quiet and lovely. We thought we... More

We have stayed in a number of excellent B&Bs in the UK and Ireland, but Dunromin stands out for the special warmth and helpfulness of the hosts. Val and Tom were wonderful to us, and the other guests. They welcomed us into their home and looked after us extremely well. They did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Our... More

Stayed here our first night in Ireland. What a wonderful way to begin! Val and Tom were wonderful hosts. The house was cozy and welcoming. Breakfast wonderful with traditional Irish but also fresh berries, yogurt and cereals. Val was a delight and she got on famously with my husband with their playful banter being he's from the Irish shore of... More

Dunromin is what I truly envision an Irish B&B to be in the best sense: Val and Tom were warm and gracious hosts, our bedroom was charming (and clean!) and breakfast was delicious! Val's recommendations were invaluable. She steered us toward Kyteler's for some great trad music, as well as the Black Abbey for a great gospel concert. Their location... More

Dunromin B&B is a charming place just outside of Kilkenny, a short walk along the river. Tom & Val are great hosts, very helpful & friendly. There are many special touches around the rooms & in both lounge areas, pretty decor, interesting reading materials, even a box of chocolates to have with tea or coffee in the lounge. Beautiful flowers... More

We were in Ireland for 12 days and this was by far,the very best B and B. Val and Tom went above and beyond to help us with where to eat, how to get there and also helped the guys get a tee time. The best breakfast in our 12 days. They are truly the nicest couple. Tom even played... More

Recent reviews seem to echo our feelings about Dunromin and if I was ever going to run my own guesthouse I'd be copying the way Val and Tom manage Dunromin. They really were the most wonderful hosts imaginable, full of information about their area, attractions and the best routes to get there! Oh, did I forget the breakfasts they cooked!... More

We only spent the day in Kilkenny, but Val and Tom helped us make the most of it with recommendations for food and current happenings. They also took time to help us with a suggested route (better than the GPS suggestion) for our trip to Kinsale. It was definitely a more scenic option than the larger, direct roadways (and with... Well my experience seems to echo many ... After our first day behind the wheel, arriving at Dunromain and Val and Tom's welcoming smiles, tea and muffins were exactly what was needed! We stayed 2 nights and feel with Val's recommendations we saw a good part of the town and got a feel for the area. An easy 10 minute... More

Recently spent two nights with Val and Tom in the lovely city of Kilkenny. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed. After settling ourselves in, Val fortified us with tea and hot cross buns as she explained the treasures of the city, gave us excellent restaurant suggestions, went over our options for music and pubs, and labelled everything on a...
