We stayed at the Meadows for one night on June 30, 2009 and next time it will be more. Kathleen and Paddy are just the nicest people and so helpful with directions and suggestions for places to go and see. The room was not huge but very comfortable and spotless. Very comfortable bed, hot pot in the room with coffee,... more

I stayed at The Meadows with my sister and sister-in-law. We had a bit of difficulty finding them (I forgot to print out the directions), but simply asked a few pedestrians and eventually found our way. It was well worth the effort. This was my 3rd trip to Ireland, and I found the owners of this B&B to be the... more

My husband and I spent two nights at The Meadows B&B in mid-June. This was our favorite B&B of our two week trip. Our double room and ensuite bathroom was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was generous and delicious---all at a very reasonable rate. In fact, it was the only place where we were offered scones with... more

This B&B is a little out of town. That's a good thing in our book. I read another reviewer before we booked mention the long walk into town. Ridiculous. It's an incredibly scenic 15 minute walk. You walk along the river with the skyline of Kilkenny in front of you. The B&B is spotless and the bathrooms were great. Hot... more

We have stayed with Kathleen and Paddy on three previous occasions and have found the accomodation to be to be of the very highest standard. The cleanliness of the bedrooms and bathrooms is always exemplary, the copious breakfast is to an excellent standard and Kathleen and Paddy could not be more friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are spacious and well... more

the meadows is pretty typical of the b&b's i stayed at while in kilkenny. the ryans were very helpful though a bit reserved for my taste- not as naturally friendly as most of the people in town (they are an older couple). they were really grand about helping me find my way around and they even took me to the... more

We loved this B&B and the hosts!! We are a married couple that travelled 10 days through Ireland with my MIL and SIL and ranked this B&B highly on our list. Our bright, crisp room was #4 which had a queen bed and a large window overlooking the back garden. The bedroom floors were hardwood and the large bathroom was... more

A bit hard to find (ask for directions) as it is on a small street. Walking distance to City Center. Very clean, bright and well decorated rooms. Excellent breakfasts with home made bread and scones. Hosts could not be more helpful or welcoming. Good prices compared to nearby B&Bs. more

We felt very fortunate to have been able to stay at The Meadows. Kathleen is an impeccable hostess who has paid so much attention to detail. Our prettily decorated room, overlooking the lovely landscaped yard, was very comfortable. The breakfasts were unmatched by any we had during our twelve days in Ireland, and we had some very good ones! Kathleen... more

Kathleen and Paddy Ryan were the most gracious hosts of our Ireland trip. They have a clean, smoke-free, warm and friendly home, lovely garden and Kathleen was very welcoming upon arrival. Sadly, our stay at this lovely B&B was near the end of our trip and not at the beginning. We arrived to tea and freshly made, warm shortbread with... more
