Myself and my friend (we're both young singles) stayed here last night. On entry, the vibe was very unfriendly. We were given one key between us. I booked a double room with a single bed in it. However, on arrival the room just head three single beds. This didn't really matter seeing I was there witha friend, but the hosts... more

Stayed at this bed and breakfast as it was recommended in a Lonely Planet book. It was a great place and was extremely comfortable. The host and hostess (Angela and John) were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. As always, the food was great! Definitely recommend staying here if you get the... more

We landed in Kilkenny without a reservation. The Celtic House had great reviews and I agree with them and do recommend it as a good and well-kept B&B situated near everything. Angela and John had no other guests and made us feel at home. They are very welcoming and attentive. B&B rooms tend to be small and that was the... more

We were greeted warmly, and I appreciated our host's help guiding me as I parked our rental car in their very "snug", secure parking area. We settled into our room at the top of the stairs. Our room was clean. Our hostess recommended Langton's for dinner. We took her recommendation and had the best meal of our whole trip there.... more

Good location (just a couple of minutes walk from the center) but that's just about it. Small room, very uncomfortable bed, basic breakfast. Definitely the description in the Lonely Planet is not deserved more

While well situated for walking about town Celtic House has little else to offer in the way of charm, comfort, or hospitality. The owners demanded our voucher payment the moment we walked in. ( This did not happen at any other B & B we stayed at). We were told that parking in the "compound" was a privelage - even... more

My wife and I stayed with Angela and John Byrne at their Bed and Breakfast. It was a great experience. The facilities were very comfortable and clean, the food was delicious and the Brynes are spectacular hosts. We would go there again without hesitation. more

After having been in Ireland for one week I can count on three fingers the number of rude people I have encountered, two of them were the onwers of this place. To be fair, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and there was lots of hot water. The downside is that in addition to the treatment, the place has wooden... more

As parents of a young family (6 and 11) u can imagine that away time is far a few in our household , to our dismay accomodation booked online turned out to be nothing short of a dog shed , so with the hunt for new accomodation in mind we decided to trawl around kilkenny for more appropiate location and... more
