We stayed here for a night in August 2014 to attend a post-wedding get-together at a pub in Tralee. The hostel was fine, although the hanging drying laundry on the bannisters was a little off-putting and the room was not particulalry clean, especially the shower. The service was OK, although the woman who checked us in seemed quite disorganised and... More

I must say that Finnegans hostel is value for money . For just 25 euro a night . Its a beautiful Georgian house in the middle of the town. I was made very welcome and was shown up to my room by the owner who was very lovely. The room was spotlessly clean as was the en suite bathroom .... More

We all stayed at finnegans and it was really nice. Even sheets hanging off the bannister gave it a homely feel . The owner was extremely nice perhaps slightly overworked, and her tearooms were clean and eccentric which we liked . Our breakfast which was included in the price was fab and the children adored the homemade waffles and cream... More

Very disorganised. Made booking two months earlier, yet the owner did not have a clue what I had booked. In fact, two weeks after my booking the owner rang to say that she did not have room for me despite rooms still being available online. I had made three bookings as I had to confirm dates and wanted to make... More

When I arrived, the owner demanded that I pay right away, so handed over 150€ for 3 nights in a private room. As I walked up the stairs, towels and sheets were hung all over the banisters and furniture in the sitting room, which was the same every single day. My room had no pillowcases or towels. Later on when... More

Myself and my boyfriend had the worst experience at this hostel ever! Even though there were bed sheets drying on the banisters on every floor, nothing seemed too bad on arrival. A staff member let us into our private room on the top floor and we quickly got ready to attend a wedding. Although the room had a strong smell... More

Finnegan's Holiday Hostel made our night in Tralee during our trip to Kerry turn out catastrophically. Kenmare and Dingle are great places if visiting Kerry, not Finnegan's Hostel!!! Succeeding booking our room online from Dingle we arrived to Finnegan's restaurant (next door to the hostel) where we were escorted upstairs to reception. Another member of staff proceeded to show us... More

On arrival the owner stated a different price to our printed reservation. We tried to reason with her with no luck and were foolish enough to pay the asked price. We were shown to a room that smelled of paint really badly -after ten minutes in the room we felt lightheaded and dizzy. Left the fan in the toilet running... More
