Finnegan's Hostel to me is a very charming and a very beautiful sweet place, I arrived here and was greeted by a lovely lady whom to be the owner Eileen Nolan. The tea room is quaint and cute with exceptional cakes,buns,teas/coffee's. And the dining area is very charming and has a very warm fire. And the food is at a... More

I am of the firm believer that the secret to reviewing a hostel or business in a fair and balance way is to spend sometime there and get to know the history, the inner workings of the establishment, the staff, the owner but to vent out your anger because of some issue you didn't or couldn't resolve can be the... The answer is nothing. Stayed here during the National Circus Festival. I paid for the cheapest room, and couldn't really ask for more. I got a bed, it was warm and comfortable, shared bathroom which was clean, and a good night's sleep. Morning was a very laid-back affair which suited us well, no hassel to be up and out by... More

I spent a weekend in Tralee, discovering county Kerry with some friends and my family, and we had a great time, in a charming hostel, the location it's amazing because it's near the Kerry museum and the rose park.

A very charming hostel. Eileen was very warm, and friendly, made you feel at home. Great morning breakfast and send off to start the Dingle Way. Great location. Kind enough to keep some of our luggage. Weight we did not need in our packs. Thank you, thank you.

The building is old and charming, the staff was very polite, nice and helpful, the breakfast was good (excellent home-made scones) and they lit the firesite only for us. When we were first guided into a double room and realized after accepting that the bed would be too small for a non-couple, they gave us another room. In the evening... More

Absolutely loved this old georgian building and gorgeous furniture - A young foreign lovely girl checked me and nice relaxed atmosphere - double bedroom a real surprise and treat - the Samuel Beckett room overlooking the park and the lovely Denny Street - this is hotel standard - not hostel standard but hostel prices (€30 for a single room!!!) -... Stayed here as a result of a last minute planned night out in Tralee with some friends I hadn't seen in ages. As it was the June bank holiday weekend there was literally no other accommodation available, so we booked this place so as not to miss our catchup with our friends. When you first walk into this building it's... More

To respond to this reviewer, in it she states we need to do some remodeling. Without being rude but if she had taken the time to look around she would of seen the notice explaining renovations were under way and also she would of seen the workmen in and out of the building as we were re-fitting all our dorm... They staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The owner did everything to make us feel welcome and look after our every need. The breakfast was lovely, as were all other meals. Perfectly located for nearby day trips. Look forward to being back again.

I wish to pay tribute to the character of both the building and the staff. The hostel was ideal for our requirements with beautiful food and professional staff at a keen price. We will be back for our 10th visit next year
