Michael and I enjoyed a day trip to Killarney recently, travelling by train from Midleton. Just a short distance from Killarney station we climbed the elegant steps to the Malton Hotel. There was a delightful ambience in the foyer with a welcoming fire and not too many people around. A very pleasant waitress served us coffee and home made scones.... More

We shuffled in tired, wet and bedraggled after having climbed Carrauntoohil that day and were greeted enthusiastically from the start with Marie more than capably getting us checked in and organised. Having got our room and baggage sorted out we unwound in the excellent leisure facilities and then went onto the Wine Rooms for that evening's meal, which was excellent... More

I stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of a group. The hotel is very nice with beautiful public areas, a comfortable cocktail lounge and very nice health club complete with an indoor pool. The nicest public space however was the spacious dining room with a very high and stunning ceiling. The rooms were modern with good amenities.... More

We had a lovely stay. The food was amazing. The surprise element was how comfortable the beds are along with the bed clothes. I would actually go back to stay in the beds and eat the amazing breakfast

We found our room too warm despite the fact that there was no heating on . Otherwise our stay was very relaxing. There is a great atmosphere in this hotel, great variety of dining options, great service throughout the hotel.

I have stayed at the Malton before and as usual the service was excellent. The ladies on reception were always smiling and a pleasure to deal with. The room we had was clean and comfortable although it could do with bit of an overhaul especially the bathroom. The bar service was excellent even if the don't stock Ballygowan water and... More

Just had a one night dinner, B&B package at Malton. Double room overlooking gardens, well appointed, bathroom fine, all very quiet. Dinner (starter, main, dessert, coffee, with initial amuse bouche taster and sorbet after starter) at Garden Restaurant was excellent - could not fault it in any way. Great life to the place - hotel had a wedding on the... More

Dear Guest, Sincere thank you for your review. Nothing pleases me more than to hear a guest appreciate what a beautiful, historical building The Malton is and I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Opened in 1854 as the Railway hotel, became The Great Southern Hotel in early 1900's and then The Malton in 2007, the hotel has indeed... More
