I could have given Carriglea 5 stars except that there are a few niggles beginning to appear in the house & room which upset our stay, mainly the room lock had deteriorated to such an extent that it took about 2 minutes to lock the door and then to fumble in the dark to unlock it! Apart from that, the... more

We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful experience. We booked a double, but were lucky enough to receive a large room with an extra sitting room. The bed was the most comfortable of the whole trip. The only thing that we noticed about our room was the cob webs. Breakfast was really delicious, with small portions so... more

What a beautiful old manor house. It needs a bit of attention but still beautiful as it is. Great location for visiting Killarney and the Park. Would stay here again. more

Friendly B&B in an ideal location, within walking distance from either the town centre or the Kerry way and National Park. Easy to find, just of the main road, but set well back and you don't hear the traffic. Comfortable, oldy worldy room, stuffed with interesting antiques, as is the whole house. Beautifully polished and dusted everywhere. The lady owner... more

After a stressfully driving around Ireland, Carriglea was a haven. The views were beautiful (see photo), and all the staff was extremely friendly. We have to leave extra early one morning to catch a ferry, and a tray of cheese, breads, fruits, and tea/coffee were brought up the night before, so we could have something to eat before we leave.... more

We stayed three nights in Carriglea House in September 2007 and had room in the annex on the side of the main house. We were emailed wonderful directions before our visit and all communication was cordial and welcoming. Our room was really a sort of suite with a small sitting room in addtion to the sleeping area and, of course,... more

We began our 10 day self-drive tour with 3 nights in Killarney staying at Carriglea House. I agree with all of the superlatives written about its quiet setting, view of the lake and spacious surroundings. Of the 3 places we stayed, it is definitely an old, gracious lady showing signs of age and tiredness...pealing wallpaper, adequate but amusing plumbing--toilet tank... more

We (party of 7) enjoyed our stay at Carriglea House on the last night of our touring trip around South West Ireland. The house is in a beautiful and tranquil location away from the busy town centre of Killarney, yet it is only 2k from the town's amenities. Only minutes away on foot, after carefully crossing the main road we... more

We stayed three nights in Carriglea House in Killarney, which is located on the southeastern periphery of Killarney, between the town and Muckross House. It’s perhaps a mile from the center of town and half a mile from Muckross (which is worth a visit). There are two entrances from the main road, with two signs. One sign says Carriglea Farmhouse,... more

Recently returned from an 11 day tour of Ireland staying in 8 different B & B's. Our stay overall was adequate but probably would not stay here again. more
