Our first experience as a family in a hostel and I would recommend a stay here. It was one of the few places we could have one room for our family of four in the area with our own bathroom. Clean and very well located, just a few steps across from the train and bus station and up a small... more

I only spent one night, and the place was alright. The guy who was working reception was less than friendly. He had earphones in and never took them out when I was checking in which I found slight;y rude. The hostel itself is in a great location right by the bus station. The dorm room was big and generally clean,... more

My first impression was to actually find the place as i was driving around and killarney didnt have too many signs for the railway station etc, but eventually found the place. The guy on reception wasnt the most friendly person though, it was empty when i went in and he was just on his own there, i had booked ahead... more

The first thing you notice in this hostel is the fact that all the rooms have a name. The name of an animal. The hostel is really nice, it remembered me a cottage 'cause there's wood everywhwere. The room was really nice and clean and you can have a free breakfast in the common kitchen. It's just five minuts walks... more

The hostel wasn't that hard to locate as their is a sign post saying hostel and an arrow off the main street. The hostel is located off the main street on a quite side street. Good location in centre of town and quite street with some car parking space. The hostel was full of people mostly hormone saturated twenty somethings/teenagers... more

I would not recommend particularly for single girls that this is a good place to stay while in Killarney. On returning to the hostel in the evening, an absolutely bizarre night watchmen followed us to our room and said he was going to wait until we went to sleep and then come in and get us. We were extremely frightened... more

Please be advised that in relation to the above review the guest was disruptive on the night in question and it was the Hostel night porter who had to call the police to deal with the situation. It was handled in a professional and efficient manner. All our staff are focused on customer service and trained to be courteous and...

Railway Hostel is a very good choice for people who want to save some money.Accomondation in Killarney is rediculously expensive, and I think even people not used to stay in hostels, will be happy to try this particular hostel. Location is great, rooms and public areas are extremely clean and staff is vey friendly. They are more that willing to help arrange... more
