After driving in from Dublin, we arrived at this surprising property. First, we were surprised by the location--just out of town but up on a very private area. Then the building surprised us: it looks like a mini castle or at least like an estate of some sort. It turns out that it was indeed built by a person of... More

The hostel is located in a nice castle and the stuff is helpful, but that's all the pros. The cons are first of all the dirtiness, especially the bathrooms (which are all shared). Other cons are: Location - it is far away from main attractions and sites, and requires long drive to them through the jammed city. A golf village... More

I'm not usually one to complain but this hostel has by far been the worst I've stayed in. It is stunning from the outside and the living rooms are massive, but the staff are so unfriendly and unenthusiastic. The wifi only work on the ground floor in the living room or dining area. The continental breakfast is very overpriced. I... More

The building itself is really charming and impressive. Although the hostel is 5km from Killarney, it's not that far really and the bus stops there if you ask. The staff was really nice, helpful and friendly. The breakfast is a bit expensive for what it really is. The common rooms are nice and welcoming although you'd better take your jumper... More

travelled with some friends in Killarney and stayed at the international youth hostel for 2 nights. We didnt come with a car so the location was a little bit problematic for us, but the staff was so nice they gave us a lift a few times. and in the other cases we took a cab (its not so much). for... My boyfriend and I stayed at the hostel this April. If you're looking for a different hostel experience, and a slightly quirky, budget friendly base for your holiday in Killarney, this is the place to go! You can have a wonderful holiday here. It's also ideal for groups interested in any kind of outdoor/adventure activities, hiking, photography, youth groups etc.... More

If you're going to enjoy Killarney International Youth Hostel will very much depend on your expectations of a youth hostel. Aghadoe House is a beautiful 19th century estate and Killarney in general offers much to the visitor. However, the standard of the house's exterior is not met in the accomodation. On the plus side, the common and breakfast rooms are... More

Have stayed here a few times now and always have a great stay. Perfect spot to launch a trip around the ring of Kerry after the drive from Dublin. I recently stayed again for the Killarney Adventure Race. As always, very friendly staff. Good breakfast included. Very quaint old manor house set in some nice greenery. It is a little... More
