My wife and I recently stayed two nights at Acara while on a two week trip through Ireland and the UK. Carmel, the proprietor, greeted us on our arrival and made sure the room we chose was acceptable to us. Carmel is personable and takes great pride in her B&B. The breakfasts were delicious and Carmel was focused on ensuring... More

We stayed over for two nights in August's Bank Holiday. The host Carmel was very welcoming, nothing was a problem. The room was very clean and cosy and we got fresh towels everyday. Also you could use kitchen any time to make some tea etc. which was great. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a well cared for B&B on a quiet street. It is a 10 minute walk to pubs and shops. Breakfast is wonderful. Bathroom was large and plenty of blankets, pillows and towels were provided. My room had 2 beds; a twin and a double. It was a bit tight, but overall, a nice room. I would stay here... More

Carmel is very welcoming and it was kind of sad to leave as I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. I stayed for 2 nights and it was close to town to walk down to the city centre. Carmel gave great recommendations on restaurants, entertainment as well as tours to take out of Killarney. She called the tour for the Ring of... More

This was our first B&B in Ireland and we would have liked to stay more than one night. Carmel was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we felt right at home. It was an easy walk to the centre of town where there was lots happening and many places to eat. Our adult sons also... More

Myself and my wife stayed at the Acara for 4 days. The proprietor was there to meet us at an arranged time. She made us feel very welcome straight away. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Carmel is a lovely person and was very helpful with her great knowledge of the area. If... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the lovely room, fresh, crisp linens and scrumptious breakfasts. I stayed at Acara for 4 nights. It is very close to the town center and the innkeeper was so helpful in arranging our day tours. I would definitely recommend this lovely B&B.

This was mom's first B&B experience. We were on vacation in Ireland, home of ancient ancestors and staying at the B&B allowed us to connect with that experience that we were visiting a country with thousands of years of history. The B&B is charming, has a great blend of old fashioned decor with modern amenities. Carmel is a gracious host... More

You'll love this cute B&B run by Carmen and her family. She's a great host, cooks up a mean breakfast, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The B&B is only a very short walk from High Street and the main restaurants and shops of downtown Killarney and very near the Tourism offices where all the tours leave from.

I can recommend this B&B highly. I stayed for 3 nights during the Summer of 2011. It's an ideal location - near the bus/train station and very close to the streets of Killarney. The B&B is a town house, very cosy and a warm welcome. The bedroom was calmly decorated and the bed linen superb - crisp and beautifully ironed.... More
