As other reviewers have said Joan was very welcoming and the facilities were comfortable and very reasonably priced. Although it was the smallest room of all the B&B's we stayed at in Ireland the view from the window made up for it and we were only there for one night. There was also a problem with the television signal and... More

Arrived here early one evening and were glad we found a spot so close to downtown. Just one street back from "The Prom", it was an easy 10 minute walk to the old center of town and all the restaurants. Joan is a jewel, from the warm welcome, to the delicious breakfast and for all the help she so graciously... More

I was there spending a weekend on the west side of Ireland and mostly for visiting the Cliffs of Moher. Cleanness was good and room very nice and comfortable. Landlord was very, very lovely but a bit' oppressive asking us timetable and preferences for breakfast. Furthermore, she organises a pick up service to the cliffs (and maybe also other locations)... As others have said, Joan is the reason to stay. She's a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome even after our somewhat late arrival. The rooms are very cosy, especially the beds. Yet again, bed and breakfasts in Ireland prove to be inexpensive, reliable and enchanting.

We slept very good. Bathroom it's a little bit tiny. Quiet..Great breakfast but the best is Joanne the owner. She was kind and very much looking after her guests. Just 10 minutes walk to the center, lovely strand promenade.

This was an amazing place to stay, as it was adorable and our host--Joan--was incredibly helpful!! The location is pretty good, because it is not far from the Salt Hill walk, and just across the street from the walk along Galway bay. Not too far of a walk to center of Galway. Our host was incredibly nice. She greeted us... More

Periwinkle is in a great location near Galway Bay and a short walk into Quay Street. Joan, the owner, was so friendly and even gave us a ride into Quay Street not long after we arrived. She was so helpful each morning asking where we were headed for the day and then suggested best route and attractions not to be... More

Stayed here for one night last week. I found it by driving by and the neighbors actually called the owner, Joan, who was out running an errand. They let me in and got me situated. Clean comfortable room, very quiet, good breakfast options and a pleasant friendly host. A short, safe walk to downtown and only a block off the... More

We stayed with the lovely Joan during our family trip. We had two rooms, one with two adults, the other with two adults, a 4 year old and an 8 month old in a cot. The rooms were very cozy, a bit squishy with the cot in but it didn't bother us. Each room had its own bathroom. Comfy beds.... More

From the initial greeting to our departure 3 days later we couldn't have been more welcome. Joan was the perfect host, offering very clean comfortable rooms and a delicious Irish breakfast. We will be back!
