We got a warm welcome when we arrived late. The room was small but clean and cozy and had all equipment you would expect at an B&B. The only thing we didn't like was the beds which were to be honerst quite uncomfortable but still ok for a nights stay. The breakfast was the best experience alongside with Joans hospitality.... Friendly B&B within walking distance of town center. Room was rather small but Joan has cleverly used the space well so that we were very comfortable. Excellent breakfast with some interesting choices. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs is a "must try". Joan was only too glad to help us with tourist info. We had a great stay!

We stayed here last night and to call it charming would be an understatement. Joan was the perfect hostess. Warm, inviting and full of information on where to go and what to do. As she put it "I can't send my guests somewhere that I haven't been myself". Take the time to view the paintings and crafts around the common... More

Staying at the Periwinkle bed and breakfast felt like home away from home. Of course it is Joans home not a specifically built guest house, so it was quaint and charming, very different, full of Joan’s beautiful paintings and interesting treasures!! The beds were possibly the best beds we slept in on our travels and we enjoyed the electric blankets.... More

Stayed at Periwinkle B&B two nights on our recent travels through Ireland. Very clean, comfortable, and quiet Our hostess, Joan, was lovely and very accommodating. I think she secretly works for the travel bureau of Ireland because, even if you have some idea of what you want to do and/or where you want to go, she will honestly tell you... More

My husband and I enjoyed our very comfortable stay here. Our room was clean, spacious and cozy. Joan was so friendly and made us a delicious breakfast and even drove us to town in the morning so we could do some quick shopping before heading off. We would definitely stay here again!

As other reviewers have said Joan was very welcoming and the facilities were comfortable and very reasonably priced. Although it was the smallest room of all the B&B's we stayed at in Ireland the view from the window made up for it and we were only there for one night. There was also a problem with the television signal and... More

Arrived here early one evening and were glad we found a spot so close to downtown. Just one street back from "The Prom", it was an easy 10 minute walk to the old center of town and all the restaurants. Joan is a jewel, from the warm welcome, to the delicious breakfast and for all the help she so graciously... More

I was there spending a weekend on the west side of Ireland and mostly for visiting the Cliffs of Moher. Cleanness was good and room very nice and comfortable. Landlord was very, very lovely but a bit' oppressive asking us timetable and preferences for breakfast. Furthermore, she organises a pick up service to the cliffs (and maybe also other locations)... As others have said, Joan is the reason to stay. She's a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome even after our somewhat late arrival. The rooms are very cosy, especially the beds. Yet again, bed and breakfasts in Ireland prove to be inexpensive, reliable and enchanting.
