We stayed at Hotel Meyrick for 2 nights in June. The room was TINY - we could hardly fit our suitcases. Of course there was no a/c and therefore the room was horribly hot. We bought the package with dinner included and the fixed menu for dinner was rather poor and the food at best was fair. There is no... more

The only saving grace for this hotel is it s staff. The reception was hidden away to the right. it was very dark and jaded and worn out. Everything seemed to be painted black.. Our room was at the back right over the bus depot. Every morning we were woken up at 6.00am to the sound of the men shouting... more

I don't think you can beat this hotel for location in Galway. If that's a priority for you, this may be the right choice. In addition, the valet parked our car for two days at no charge. We only ate in the bar in the basement where the food portion was quite good and the value was appropriate. Upon check-in... more

It sells it self as being THE hotel in Galway - but it didn't live up to this unfortunately. Lots of touches you expect from a hotel in this price bracket - just weren't there - or were there but didn't quite make the grade. It wasn't a business hotel - but it wasn't a tourist hotel either - it... more

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a standard room which faced Eyre Square. Despiote some reviews which complained of noise, we didn't hear a sound. The room was standard sized, but must have had a 30' foot ceiling. The whole hotel is VERY old and aside from the lobby and the bathrooms in the rooms, it appears not... more

Ten of us stayed here for 3 nights and we all loved it. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and all of our breakfasts. The rooms were good for the price and we would all vote to return. more

Stayed here for 3 nights on business. This was once the #1 hotel in town, when it was known as the Great Southern Hotel. It has since changed hands. I found it somewhat quirky. On one hand, you have this fine external structure, wonderful stone-work, wide corridors, large bedrooms etc. On the other hand, the restaurant has black wallpaper or... more

Excellent location. Food was good as well as the service. Room and bathroom were clean Locals in the sports pub were very kind and friendly. Close to everything in the city center. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Wish we stayed longer to enjoy the town and the surrounding area, especially the crystal... more
