Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Hardiman enjoys a prime spot in central Galway, celebrated by guests for its blend of historic charm and contemporary style. While the rooms are often described as comfortable, there are mixed reports about their condition and amenities, with some guests facing issues like poor AC and water pressure. The hotel's service stands out positively, being commonly characterized as professional and attentive, though it's not without occasional criticism. Dining variety is a plus, yet the value proposition is questioned, with experiences sometimes not meeting 4-star expectations and complaints about additional costs.

The Hardiman was everything I expected. In the booking process I made a few mistakes and the staff was very helpful in resolving them and helping me find the correct solutions. The property is very well maintained and located in the center of town. We walked to dinner and had a few pints at the pub next door.

Central hotel, which it was. However, “suite”was dated, and very worn. Seriously needs to be refurbished. Very disappointing. Staff were in general friendly, however, I did phone in prior to arrival, to be greeted by someone whose first language was not English, and was really hard to understand ! Breakfast was nice, but again furniture in dining room was tired and in need of replacing.

Stayed here on Mother's Day. Paid €198 for a Double Room (B&B) and €142 for a Single Room (B&B). The rooms we were allocated did not look like those on the website and had a dreadful outlook. Decor was very old fashioned and not to our taste - I suppose some would call it "retro". The bedrooms were very hot and we were unable to cool them down except by opening the window, which attracted seagulls onto our window sill. A fan was provided but it only moved the hot around the room, rather than actually cooling it. Bed was quite firm but comfortable. Service in the Oyster Bar was apathetic. Breakfast was chaotic - the layout of the buffet just doesn't work as people trying to enter the dining room have to wade through guests who are selecting their buffet items and it was difficult to reach the cereals as they are on elevated containers on the bar top. There were no friend eggs, beans or mushrooms offered as part of the hot buffet and a supplement of €3 was payable if you wanted Eggs Benedict - definitely not a 4 star experience. Discounted overnight car parking (€10) at Hynes' Yard Car Park but this is a 5 minute walk from the hotel (there is a set down area outside for drop-off & collection). The hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the city. Overall, our experience was very negative which was a shame as we had looked forward to this visit for a long time.

From checking to checkout, this was a phenomenal experience. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, providing tips for things to do around Galway. The room itself was amazing, bed was very comfortable, bathroom provided all the amenities one would expect at a 5 star hotel. Location of the hotel is central to many great restaurants and shopping areas. Access to tour companies was also great, as there are two tour companies with a 2 minute walk from the hotel. All in all, we had a great experience and I highly recommend The Hardiman in Galway!

The Hardiman is a beautiful hotel located within a short walking distance to everything you could possibly want to see in Galway city center. The building is gorgeous and we loved our room. It was big and clean and graciously appointed with a view of the square. The breakfast was wonderful and sitting by the fire in the lobby in the evenings was very cozy. Above all else - Karolina at the front desk is what made our stay as wonderful as it was. She was warm and inviting from our first moments in the hotel. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs with our young baby. Our stay could have been disastrous with no fridge in the room to store milk, but Karolina took wonderful care of us and removed all obstacles for us. Thank you Karolina, you are the best!!

We met Alessandro Monti at the bar, and he is such a gem. He is a keeper. His service made us feel like we were friends for a long time. Did you know Alessandro speaks four languages? Next time you stop at the Galway Hardiman bar, find Alessandro and ask him about the four languages he speaks. Alessandro, thanks for the great conversation and the recommendation on where we can find good Arepas 🤗🎉. You are da man!!!!

Went to hardiman hotel Friday the 1st of March for afternoon tea with my daughter. From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted with friendly staff at reception. We were brought to our table where we could see the hustle and bustle of the hotel. Everytime a member of staff passed out table we got a lovely smile or asked were we OK for everything. The afternoon tea was one of the top ones and I have been to many. We never felt that we were rushed it was so relaxing. The lady that served us (did not get her name) was so nice and friendly and stood to have a conversation with us and made us feel so welcome. I will return to hardiman hotel again and hopefully for longer the next time. You have wonderful staff working with you.

Couldn't ask for a better location in the heart of Galway. Very friendly staff and we enjoyed the complimentary upgrade over our 2-night stay for our honeymoon in Ireland. Historic charm with modern amenities
