This is a beautiful B&B in a quiet spot on the doorstep of the town centre. I felt like I experienced true Irish hospitality - Breege and Louise were outstanding hosts. The room was beautiful and I loved coming down for breakfast every morning for an Irish breakfast and a friendly chat. I wish I could give more stars for my... More

A friend & I spent 3 nights in April 2012. We were made quite welcome by Breege & her daughter Louise. Both the room & bathroom were quite generous in size, Thoughtfully arranged with water & beverage supplies and refrigerator. Breakfast was delicious & I very much appreciated the gluten free bread that appeared our 2nd morning. Especially since I... More

A friend and I stayed at Abacus Guest House in April 2012. It was our first visit to Galway (and Ireland), and I'll always remember how welcome Breege and her daughter Louise made us feel. As soon as we arrived, Louise brought us a pot of tea and some cakes, and offered us plenty of friendly advice about the local... More

Had a great stay and would highly recommend it as it is in a quiet location close to the centre of town. Every thought has been put into providing for your needs right down to an iron and ironing board within easy access. Our host Breege was wonderful and provided us with a recommendation for an interesting pub (Anpucan) where... More

I must say that I was very impressed with Abacus Guesthouse. I was in town for a weekend at the end of January 2012 doing a course at the Bon Secours Hospital across the street in order to update my skills for my job. The proprietor of the guesthouse, Breege, was such a lovely woman, very welcoming, kind, and helpful.... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Abacus House. Lovely large rooms, big bathrooms, and a shower with great water pressure, which is a real rarity in Ireland. The host was very thoughtful, leaving wine glasses and plates in our room after we had requested them on the previous evening. It was a nice and thoughtful touch. An excellent breakfast, with... We had a fantastic stay in this guesthouse and would highly recommend it. Having stayed in many B&Bs across Ireland, it is a luxury to stay in a place with a good shower! So many of the other places seem to lack that. Also, the room we stayed in was huge, far bigger than we expected, and the bathroom was... More

Louise and her family were such a pleasure to speak with and could always be reached to ask advice. In the morning, you could choose a cold breakfast like I did of cereal, yogurt and fruit or a hot breakfast of eggs and bacon like my friends-as well choose from many other favorites!. I love the "NOM" ?? yogurt and... More
