Located just a few minutes walk from the City Centre and the famed Galway Bay in Salthill, The Swallow is a nice, cozy B and B at a reasonable price. The proprietirs, Jimmie and Patricia are two of the kindest souls ever to grace Galway. I arrived very late, well after midnight, and was greeting with hospitality and charm. Breakfast... more

I booked 2 twin rooms well over two months in advance of our stay only to receive a call the day before we were due to travel to say `they had to be elsewhere`. I was diplomatic when receiving the call, but would say I was not happy. They had arranged for us to stay at D`arcys about 20 yards... more

We stayed here for one night, it's located between the beach at Salthill and downtown Galway, about a 10 minute walk to each. If you plan on going to the beach, it's worth it to stay there, but I feel like we would have been happier staying more in the downtown Galway and just driving to the beach. The rooms... more

I stayed there for two nights together with my boyfriend and we booked previously. First we got a seperate room next to the main building which was a mess; it was tiny, the floor was extremly filthy and also the furniture, which was "hostel-style", wasn't clean at all. finally I recognised that also the linen was dirty. The view out... more

I recently stayed with my wife at The Swallows B&B and found it a wonderful experience The hosts are jovial and friendly , its ideally located for city centre and beach, both only 10 mins walk. The breakfeast was top class as was the room. Look forward to returning there. Neil Renton more

Stayed in this B&B for May Bank Holiday, it was recommended to me by family that had stayed there earlier this year. Firstly, the location is perfect, about 10min walk into town centre and same to beach area of Salthill. The place itself was very clean and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was continental, scrambled eggs, cereals,... more

We found this place on the Internet and having read the reviews on this web site, decided to book 2 nights. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. We are not sure whether our dirty cups were missed, or whether they are only supplied clean on arrival. A plumbing problem caused the shower water to drain very slowly, meaning we were... more

The Swallow was a pleasant B&B just over the river from the main part of Galway. The location was great: an easy walk to Galway Cathedral, the Spanish Arch, and all the best pubs in the Latin Quarter. It was also convenient to several bus routes to Salt Hill. I stayed in a single room that was small but livable... more

Stayed here recently and found the Swallow a nice, little, comfortable BnB on the Fr Griffin Road, very close to Galway City and Salthil. Room was clean and basic, we had a double and the couple running the place are very, very helpful and enthusiastic. Wouldnt let us leave without making us have a cup of tea. Small bathroom with... more
