I had zero issues with this hotel and staff. I was concerned after reading the other reviews but after staying here I have nothing but good things to say. The rooms themselves were clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the bar downstairs was great. Was this a 5 star hotel? No. But it was exactly what... More

The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location. But that's it. It is dirty. The beds are uncomfortable with no padding, only springs. It is also loud -- street noise, bar noise and some local singing out on the corner early in the morning. We tried to call front desk numerous times in the evening but... More

I'm at a loss for words but I'll try and explain why you should avoid this place. We arrived at 2pm as stated on our booking form. Upon arrival we were advised that the room wouldn't be ready for another half an hour which was disappointing. The very abrasive manageress, having overhead me telling my partner that I'd stated a... Rooms were clean. Beds were not that great. Close to a parking garage if you have a car. DON'T get a room that faces Quay St. So loud at night and in the morning when they are changing out kegs. Great bar in the hotel. Staff was nice. Easy to walk to things, but it's at the end of the... More

Right in the middle of the action in central and congested Galway. You can walk everywhere and that includes many fine pubs and restaurants. The University, Cathedral, Spanish Arch and train station are nearby. There is great shopping, especially O'Mailles clothing design just up the street. The provided all of the garments for the movie "The Quiet Man". The have... More

We stayed in the Spanish Arch in July. The location of the hotel is excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the music in the bar provided a great atmosphere. However the rooms are of a very poor standard. The bed was uncomforable, mattresss really needs to be replaced. The shower did not... More

We stayed here for two nights in July. On arrival when i walked through the door I thought oh no what have I booked. The reception area was grubby an dirty. It defo needs a new carpet and a paint job. We had to wait an hour or so to check in as we were early, that wasn't a problem... More

We stayed here over the 4th of July for two days. Conor greeted us and he was super friendy and very helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing Quay Street. Conor informed us it would be noisey, but that was fine with us...we didn't care about that. We got to our room and unfortunately it was not pretty...there... More

Our stay at the Spanish Arch Hotel was great from start to finish. We arrived early and were greeted warmly and allowed to keep our bags at reception for the hour or so it would take to get our room ready. The rooms are very spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The location right on Quay Street cannot be beat.... More

I booked the Spanish Arch for a group of 9 women going to a hen party. It was conveniently located and I wanted everything to be within easy walking distance. We arrived early and were greeted by a very friendly Conor. He told us our rooms weren't ready but we could leave our bags there at reception. We filled in... More
