I stayed here recently as I needed to be in Galway unexpectedly for work. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews as I was in a rush to book somewhere, so I didn't know what kind of hotel it was. Some pluses and minuses below: Pros Location is excellent, perfect for local pubs and restaurants Hotel staff seemed friendly Heating worked... More

Being in the heart of the " Latin Quarter ", the Spanish Arch is excellently placed. Not only is there live ,quality bands at this hotel, but there are numerous venues on your doorstep with an abundance of different music from rock to traditional. Then there is the food, you are quiet simply spoilt for choice, the "Arch" itself or... More

The location of this little hotel is excellent-- it's at the end of Quay Street near the river, so it's easy to recommend for that alone. The rooms were fine. Nothing special, but clean and quaint. We enjoyed the convenience of the live music at the bar downstairs, but it was a bit loud later at night (we stayed on... More

I have stayed here twice and each time i question "why "when im at reception. But to be fair the rooms are very good value. Firstly the location is perfect. You are right smack in the heart of the action. Great resturants near by. The bar food in hotel is good but only during peak season. Hotel staff are friendly.... More

We made a last minute booking for this hotel on the morning of arrival. It was for a Saturday night on a Bank Holiday Weekend. The hotel is well located in the thick of things, and that is its huge advantage. There are a myriad of bars and restaurants within a few feet. The pub in the hotel was open... More

To tell the truth, the Spanish Arch Hotel is not what we expected. Especially, because if you surf online and afteryou see in real, you're not sure it's the same place. First the lift was not working (definitely not enjoyable whem you're staying on the third floor). After we were supposed to have free WiFI,but it's not mentionned it's only... More

I stayed in a triple room at a cost of 62.50 per person a night. No breakfast nor parking included. The room was a twin with a third bed thrown in. The carpet was disgusting with a myriad of various stains. The view was of a yellow bricked wall which blocked out any daylight. A kettle was provided but no tea... More

Great location for hens/ stags. However there are some drawbacks - very few plugs in the rooms and can be very noisy at night. The rooms are very small as well. Some of the staff there do not know anything about what they offer. When I was making the booking I asked if it was possible to get breakfast included... More

Just back from a weekend in Galway. Be very careful if drinking in this establishment. Observed a customer getting ripped off twice by one of the barmen. On both occasions the customer handed over a twenty Euro note only to be given change from a ten. On the second occasion the customer spoke to the barman about this. He simply... More
