When someone visits you from your home country in Ireland it is a must to bring them for a night out in Galway. We started in another pub with a drink or two. Spanish Arch kept us staying longer with great live music, lovely people and an inimitable atmosphere. Only the silly urge to visit one more place before closing... More

Dear Adrienne, What a beautiful tribute, and we like to think well deserved compliments to our staff. Its their business to make guests happy and I like to think that they do try hard to achieve this goal. To get this accolade from another Happy Customer, just makes one's day..... Kind Regards, Frank. More

I was the best priced, most central hotel we could find with a car park. The location is great, right on High Street, and a stones throw from some really great pubs, but that,s is also a downside in a way. It was quite noisy at night with all the revelers outside. And then in the morning, when kegs were... More

Hi Adam, Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. I'm glad you had a good stay in Galway, and I suppose best advice to other would be to bring ear-plugs if a light sleeper. You don't seem to need them though, and hey Adam, a couple of sociables downstairs I hear, also helps with the sleep....;-)) Regards, Frank. More

This hotel is in the heart of the Quays near the foot of High Street and the River Corrib....you can't beat the location. Further up High Street, it turns into Shop Street which is....wait for it!...full of more shops and more restaurants. There's a parking garage 2 doors down from the hotel where you can park your car at a... More

Hi phlee7ca, Many thanks for your feedback. I will pass your regards to Julie and the Guys on Reception. Yes, Indeedy, we had a marvelous Summer Weather-wise, and obviously with that comes warmer nights. In an old building such as ours, and with rare Summer temps over 20c, we don't have AC. However I do hope you had a fabulous... More

Travelled with friends to this hotel which has a great location and a good lively bar and had some very good live bands , however the hotel side of things were by far the worst I've ever seen mainly due to the ignorance of the so called hotel management , rooms do need a little work but nothing that couldn't... I had zero issues with this hotel and staff. I was concerned after reading the other reviews but after staying here I have nothing but good things to say. The rooms themselves were clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the bar downstairs was great. Was this a 5 star hotel? No. But it was exactly what... More

The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location. But that's it. It is dirty. The beds are uncomfortable with no padding, only springs. It is also loud -- street noise, bar noise and some local singing out on the corner early in the morning. We tried to call front desk numerous times in the evening but... More

I'm at a loss for words but I'll try and explain why you should avoid this place. We arrived at 2pm as stated on our booking form. Upon arrival we were advised that the room wouldn't be ready for another half an hour which was disappointing. The very abrasive manageress, having overhead me telling my partner that I'd stated a... Hi Gina, Thank you for your most in-depth review. After must investigating, I can only say, and indeed our receptionist remembers the situation vividly. She thinks that her over-enthusiasm to help and accommodate you was taken the wrong way, and not in the way you feel you received it. She said that she apologizes profusely, if you think that she... Rooms were clean. Beds were not that great. Close to a parking garage if you have a car. DON'T get a room that faces Quay St. So loud at night and in the morning when they are changing out kegs. Great bar in the hotel. Staff was nice. Easy to walk to things, but it's at the end of the... More

Hi Sar, Many thanks for your review. you are correct in all comments. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Galway, It seems that we have... More

Right in the middle of the action in central and congested Galway. You can walk everywhere and that includes many fine pubs and restaurants. The University, Cathedral, Spanish Arch and train station are nearby. There is great shopping, especially O'Mailles clothing design just up the street. The provided all of the garments for the movie "The Quiet Man". The have... More

We stayed in the Spanish Arch in July. The location of the hotel is excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the music in the bar provided a great atmosphere. However the rooms are of a very poor standard. The bed was uncomforable, mattresss really needs to be replaced. The shower did not... More
