Stayed with my partner for as weekend visiting friends. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. We ate in the bar one night and the food was delicious with prompt service. I loved the breakfast, really great spread and the atmosphere was so nice and relaxed. The Wi-Fi wasn't great as the signal kept dropping and changing between pillo and... More

Went to reception to check in and got my room card. Went to my room and attempted to enter only for the room to be already occupied by a young woman. Both of us were obviously confused and this was the start of the evening of mix ups. Went back to reception and told the guy that the room was... More

Dear Fred, You can be assured that I was made aware of the issues that you experienced during your stay with us. It was disappointing and very unfortunate that these occurred as it is always our intention to provide our guests with the best possible service. However, if this does not happen then as you mentioned yourself in your review,... More

We stayed in the Maldron on our 1st trip to Galway. It was a perfect choice and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The staff were no than friendly and definitely treat the guests with a first class level of service.

Good location out of town however, if you want to be near the action you'll have to get a taxi. Nice rooms and we had a great nights sleep. Bar was compact which we liked and service was great. Breakfast was good value @ €10 & well stocked. Overall would stay again as we got a great deal.

Stayed on the Friday 05/02/16, and I have to say after reading the last few comments it's unfair to the establishment, the staff are very efficient and treated my son very well with pancakes in the morning and colouring books he was delighted, We went out for the day and came back to a nice busy and welcoming feeling we... Stayed here for 2 nights in February on Friday and Saturday. The hotel has recently been taken over by the Maldron brand. We were in the bar on the Saturday night from 11 15 pm. The hotel was near full, yet there was no live music or indeed music of any kind to entice people to drink in the bar... More

We have been here a few times for drinks, but decided to get food. It was a huge letdown. All 3 dishes were cold. The meatballs were dry and tasteless, and the pizza looked like it came from a Goodfellas box. Very disappointing, however, the waitress was friendly and attentive, so hats off to her.

This hotel was reasonably priced and within walking distance of the city center (10 mins.) The room was very spacious with two double beds. Everything was clean and modern. The underground parking was a plus particularly in the bad weather., The receptionist was very friendly and efficient and he answered any queries I had. Breakfast was good with the usual... More

I've been to Galway countless times, and for a variety of occasions - birthdays, stags, and in this instance, a one night getaway as a couple. We stayed in the Maldron on Sandy Road (formerly Pillo hotel) for one night, and booked the night away as something to look forward to at the end of dry January. I wouldn't lessen... More

Stopped in for lunch today with my mother... the waitress (Anne, I think) was an absolute credit to your hotel; (we have been in this industry all our lives !) The food and service has improved emensley since we were there last (when it was the Pillo) I had the pork which was hot, tasty and good value, I liked... More
