The only good thing about this hotel were it's location and reception staff. Rooms too hot and after asking plenty times could the hearing be turned down we were told deal with it! Reception staff we lovel, extremely nice and helpful. Bar staff and one waiter in particular were not so nice. Bar staff took an order of drinks from... More

2 This is a spotless hotel in a great location. We stayed for 2 nights and used taxis to and from Galway city (7-10e max). This way we could have a drink and not have it drive...there is a bus every 15 mins to the city, but as there were 4 of is the fares would be 8e each way... More

Stayed February 2014 Good points: Check in staff were lovely. Very helpful. Gave us info on things to do, buses etc. Room was far away from reception so we didn't hear anyone coming and going up and down the halls. Water was nice and hot in the bathroom and the bath was comfortable. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet.... More

We recently had a very enjoyable midweek 4 day break in the Connacht Hotel in Galway. We stayed in the one bedroomed family apartments, grandparents [us] had one apartment and across the hall mam, dad, toddler and young baby shared another apartment. The apartments were ideal for our stay, large bedroom with dbl and sngl bed, good size bathroom, hallway,... More

Group of us stayed in hotel on Sat 11th Sun 12th April for 70th birthday. Group ranged from 5 mths upwards. 04.10 the fire alarm went off and stayed on till 04.50. Entire hotel was evacuated was a false alarm and staff couldn't knock the system off. No panicking but plenty of screaming kids (our 10 year old ran straight... More

In the middle of a 5 day stay, we were contacted by the front desk saying a fire sensor in our room was malfunctioning. We were asked to move to another room for safety's sake while they got this fixed. Was very impressed with the commitment to safety by the management of the hotel. After changing rooms, we were also... More

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are outstanding and so friendly you are made to feel so welcome from the moment you arrive. The food is first class just a pity I couldn't have stayed for a few more days but I will be back
