Location is perfect! Rooms are good, especially under some beds (not in every room) there are small cages, where you can keep and lock your private stuff, which is great! Room with a look on shop street, can be good cos you can reach for other free wifi signal(when hostel is full, wifi signal can be poor), but also, can... More

You cannot get better location in Galway. The bathroom was a little dirty, but it was in the room so I won't complain too much. The receptionist (tall guy with a beard) was probably the most patient person I came across on my trip. He gave me directions and was SUPER nice during check in. When I go back to... More

The kitchen is well equipped and they also serve breakfast which is helpful. Power sockets next to all beds which is a godsend also a light!... More

First off, Galway is the most amazing city! To top it off barnacles was a perfect little hostel to stay at. The location is ideal, right in the city centre. The rooms were clean, the showers hot and breakfast provided. But the best part i would say was the staff, they were so incredibly helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be... More

First hostel in my life, I was a bit apprehensive but my fears went away when I discovered the bedroom (12beds) and the 2 bathrooms. They were very clean, and comfy. The mattress was better than my student accomodation' one haha. The personal is kind. Wifi connexion everywhere in the building, " living room " with computers, tv, games, books...... More

I stayed at Quay Street House for one night because my sister left earlier than me. It's really really in the middle of the city centre, couldn't be better located and the staff is very friendly and printed my boarding card for free when I asked for some copy shop. There are plug sockets for EVERY bed and the bathroom... More
