Stayed here june 12th--2nights bed, breakfast and an evening meal and had a lovely time. Check-in was fast and efficient....less than 5mins and check out was the same. Reception staff very friendly and professional. Our room---136 was immaculate, beds very comfortable, bathroom big and it had everything you needed for the duration of the stay. We had breakfast in the room... more

We (family of 4 with kids aged 11 & 12) stayed for the June Bank Holiday weekend at the Galway Bay Hotel. We chose Galway for our weekend away as the Volvo Ocean Race was being hosted in Galway and a great weekend was assured and we were not disappointed. But to speak of the hotel; we arrived to a... more

This hotel is in a great location overlooking a beautiful bay. The rooms are fine although mine smelled of cigarette smoke but under no circumstances go to the lobster pot restaurant. When we went we had to wait 30 minutes to get served. When the waiter finally got round to taking our order we were told they only had 1... more

I have wanted to stay in this hotel for many years but with children we always went s/c. Now children grown up we could go and it was worth the wait. We had a beautiful view from our bedroom window and the room was all I was wanting. All toiletries provided and even an iron and ironing board. Even though... more

My husband, two young sons and I stayed here last week. The staff were very friendly. It was a refreshing change to have staff in an Irish hotel who had good english and the majority of which were Irish. They must treat the staff well and it shows. We stayed in a family room and had plenty of space for... more

I stayed at the Galway Bay Hotel for a 4 day conference. The hotel has a great view of the Atlantic. I found that the staff was very friendly, but slow with requests. The rooms are very small and the bathroom needs to be updated. No irons or ironing boards in the rooms, however; there is a community 'ironing room'... more

Just back from a nice weekend in Galway. There seems to be quite a bit of highly rated commentary about this hotel, so I thought a bit more perspective is required: Pros: (1) Great staff - they made an absolute difference with their professionalism. The restaurant staff deserve special mention for their friendliness - thank you Bridie. (2) Food quality... more

Just back from 2 night stay in Galway Bay Hotel, we booked a family room, the room was big and airy and had 1 double bed, single bed and 1 camp bed. We booked 2 nights b & b with 1 evening meal. They have a kids club over the mid term, we didn't think our 4 year old daughter... more

My family and i went to the Galway bay to celebrate new years with 4 other friends and 2 children. We had an amazing time. Where to start - the food was fabulous and we were treated new years morning to a lovely glass of champers. The entertainment suited everyone - there was a lovely lounge area with comfy couches... more

Was determined not to let anything spoil my holiday. Lovely location this hotel. nice walk into salthill and galway with good weather. rooms comfortable, hotel new looking. comfy beds alright.. now onto the problems. Reception frequently unmanned, staff generally uninterested (really badly) methinks minimum wage here. Fried breakfast is pretty poor, eggs hash brown okay, the rest salty and disgusting.... more
