Just returned from an Easter Break in the Galway Bay Hotel. Very nice hotel with excellent staff (especially the manager at front of house), good food and great location. Only bug bear would be the gym and pool are disappointing. All in all though 8/10. Will definitely go back.

Nora was a life Savior when I needed to use the computer. The rooms were superior and the staff was helpful when any question was answered with a smile. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent. There was always some daily activity that was offered to to the guests for free. ie. wine tasting, dancing.

This is my Husband's and I, eleventh year returning to this splendid hotel. As usual, the reception staff were excellent upon arrival, departure and in between. The Lobster Restaurant and staff are of the highest standard, "Thank you Ashling", you looked after us (David and Audrey Smith) extremely well. The food was fantastic and served in a very professional manner.... More

All of the staff in this hotel from check in to the staff in the bar and restaurant are fantastic. All so helpful, polite and friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful with some great facilities such as an indoor pool (including splash pool for kids), a kid's club, bar, cafe, restaurant. We barely needed to leave the hotel for entertainment.... More

The Galway Bay Hotel feels like a time gone by. It's a large hotel with dated decor. It's being renovated, our room smelled of paint so had clearly just been done but it was still so dated. Out of fashion furniture and carpet, not charming, just chintzy. It's not quite in the town of Galway, it's along the seafront at... More

Hotel was generally very good, as was the food, in a great location right on Galway Bay. The pool was okay, though only 15m and mostly used by families/kids on the Easter weekend when we stayed, so not great for any serious swimming. If I'm being picky, some minor gripes are: * hotel decor is rather old-fashioned for our tastes,... More

Stayed here for 3 nights from 7th-9th April 2014. Was very disappointed with the room. The shower was of a very poor quality, neither hot or cold and only a trickle of water on the 3 mornings I tried to shower. Also the room had an old fashioned TV and only had RTE programmes, which invariably meant there was nothing... More

Stayed 15/4/14 for one night. The hotel has a great location looking out onto Galway Bay. The hotel makes the most of the views which can be enjoyed particularly from the sun terrace. Our room was comfortably furnished but lacked a safe. The WiFi and the limited choice of TV stations in our room was poor. The atmosphere and service in... More

Decidedly average in all aspects except the location. Clearly a hotel that thinks it does not have to try too hard because of where it is. Food was average, service ok, rooms poor, in need of modernisation. Cleanliness average. Over priced for what you get.
