The reception and bar do not reflect the rooms- downstairs is quite modern and although the room was clean it was smelly and the bed dipped on one side. In saying this, the staff are lovely and breakfast was fab. Great location and only €80 for a double room.

I need to start out by saying that I didn't actually stay at the Eyre Square. I had booked a room there for 3 nights (Sat, Sun, Mon) over Easter Weekend. Booking directly with the hotel, I thought it was odd that they required a non-refundable deposit of 24 Euro, but I went ahead and booked. Because I was staying... More

I am just back for a weekend away in galway. The Eyre Sq Hotel is a great spot literally 10seconds from eyre sq. The Hotel is grand , nice reception, lifts to all the floors, rooms were slightly old fashioned but very clean and has all the amenities you expect tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer,tv no complaints at all. I felt... More

I stayed at this hotel 2 years ago . And our room was robbed . Their security is terribly outdated they are still using the old key system where I believe was the cause of our room to be robbed. either an ex patron copied the key or maybe it was a staff member. but anyway there was no sign... After some deliberation we hopped a plane to spend some time exploring Ireland. Upon arriving in Dublin we booked our hotel based on price and proximity to the bars and shops. Eyre Hotel fit the bill! We arrived by bus and was pleased that we walked across the street and around the corner and their it was. Check in was... More

I spent a weekend at the Eyre Square hotel and have nothing but praise for the staff. It was my first experience of Galway, and in fact Ireland, and the staff did their country proud. Always helpful and friendly, especially the receptionists who couldn't do enough. Room was clean and tidy, great shower, comfy bed. Did just the job for... More

This is an old style hotel. It doesn't have the glitz and glimmer that other more expensive hotels may have. I would have given it a higher rating except for two things. There is no deadbolt lock on the room door. I propped a chair against the door both nights of our stay. The other thing is if you leave... More

As the title says "location" . Its the perfect spot if heading out in Galway. Its bang in the center. Walking distance to everything. Next door is the train & bus station and across the square is Galways bustling nightlife. The rooms are clean, somewhat small but if booked in advance or from the hotel sites then you can be... Just up from the bus and train station and in Eyre Square, walking distance on a night out not overly beautiful hotel but would do the trick especially if someone would like close by to everything, Galway is a mighty City

This hotel has a great location. Less than a 5 minute walk from the bus station, lots of shops, and pubs. The hotel was very basic, and plesantly clean. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything in the other rooms and hallway. If you're a light sleeper I'd recommend earplugs. I would absolutely stay here again.
