I cant speak highly enough of the staff at the Westwood. From the minute we arrived nothing was too much trouble, they were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a good sized, well equipped rooms. The bar and restaurant served good food at reasonable prices (for Ireland!). The only downside was that the hotel is a half hour walk... more

What a treat it was to open our room door when we first arrived. We had just had a bad of experience staying in a couple of grim B&B's along the south west coast so it was doubly pleasing to find ourselves in a a very luxurious and large bedroom with a good sized bathroom as well. The room had... more

We have just spent a marvellous few days at the Westwood and we are absolutely thrilled with the hotel, from the friendliness of the staff both in the restaurant and the reception. they could not have been more helpful. the food is delicious and beautifully served. the hotel is on the outskirts of Galway so a car is essential but... more

Rarely do I note how hospitable the staff of a hotel are, tending to focus more on the room itself, but the hospitality of the Westwood Hotel was noteworthy. As an example as we were on our way out the door we mentioned we had some concerns about the quality of our directions and the lady behind the desk offered... more

This hotel is off the beaten track--which is okay. It is clean. The food for breakfast was good. What was frustrating: the internet connection is terrible--the wired connection in the room did not work to download email on either my nor my husband's computer. The free wireless in the lobby: a joke! There were four passwords required to log on... more

Great attention to detail -- from initial reservation to quality of room, to quality of food. Very friendly staff. Four star quality at a very reasonable price. Definitely best hotel I have stayed in, in Galway.Wonderful food -- both evening dinner & breakfast. Try the smoked fish for breakfast ....... fantastic ! more

I've been to the westwood on a number of occasions, as a guest, at a social evening and as a guest at a wedding. It has a true charm and class as a hotel, the food is alway excellent and the service top class. The staff and management are young and eager to please and seem to take a serious... more

Stayed here for a couple of nights, touring Connemara. The food is really, good (except we couldn't get them to do the eggs as we wanted for breakfast). The rooms were fine, though ours had a lousy view, which seemed unnecessary as it wasn't that full, but I'm not good at getting the best rooms in a hotel. Parking is... more

i can't say enough about this hotel & have already recommended it to my friends & will definately stay there again. The staff were second to none & could not do enough for us. The food was superb, plenty of choices. Near to Galway which is a very full of life, exciting city. Don't miss it more

This is a wonderful place to stay. The staff were so freindly and helpful and the meals were a delight. It is a little expensive but was worth it for the pleasure. I looked at the review on trip advisor before we booked and was so pleased that we did. After just trusting my instincts on other hotels I gave... more
