The first we were given couldn't be opened and the 2nd room had no hot water, heating and the curtains didn't close properly. There was a smell of stale smoke throughout the building. The bathroom was dirty.

I stayed at Wards Hotel with 3 other people; two of whom had never been to Wards. Again, I was happy with my stay, with the food, with the pub and the entire friendly and efficient staff. I made all of the arrangements with instructions form the rest of my party that they are all 'watching it' (meaning their money)... More

Paid 50 euro to stay here during the Galway races when hotels are hard to find, particular cheap deals. 50 euro well spent I have to say. I don't believe in complaining about a place if it is the cheapest deal in town. Yes the rooms are basic, yes the toilets are the size of wardrobes, yes the wifi didn't... More

I've stayed at Wards Hotel many times and will be staying again this coming October 30th (along with 3 other people). The hotel is located in the trendy area of Salthill, a one minute walk from the shores of Galway Bay. No, the hotel isn't new, ultra fashionable or fancy, it reminds me of a charming country hotel but in... More

Stayed here from 13 - 15 June, 9 of us all together. What a fantastic, friendly little hotel, within 5 min s walk to Galway Centre, excellent quality breakfast every morning with endless coffee and toast as well as full irish fry up, cereal and fruit. I have never met a more friendly and funny bunch of people, who would... More

This place was the most horrible dirty smelly hole I have ever been to. Most unwelcoming staff and the place was so outdated. The TV was fuzzy and barely worked and the wifi was rubbish. Couldn't have the curtains open as the people out having a smoke from the pub could see in. Dirt

This hotel was perfect for our needs, when going to a friend's wedding in Galway. Okay, the rooms are small and simple, but the hotel is good value for Galway. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to quite a large group of wedding guests, and the hotel has a great bar that serves fantastic Guinness well into the night.... More

Stayed here for one night while touring the west of Ireland. The room was tired and shabby. The bedding didn't fit the bed and the mattress was starting to unthread. The best was yet to come, when I went to use the ensuite bathroom, I was hit with the smell of stale urine. It was overpowering and sickening. I couldn't... More

good small hotel with a bar on the ground floor; parking is at the back and the location is very convenient to Galway city centre; easy enough to find by following the signs for Salthill as you approach Galway
