This has been my favourite place to stay for many years, and this year was no exception. This is for people who want a genuine experience of real Ireland, not just another hotel or generic B&B. I count this as one of the most beautiful houses and gardens in Ireland; the proprietress has an eye for beauty and style of... More

A lovely quaint guest house but that where it ends. Value for money is appalling. We stayed at the guest house for one night as we were attending a friends wedding at Ballynahinch Castle and they were fully booked. We arrived on the Saturday and literally checked in and changed and set off for the wedding. Our room was cold and we had... I am very sad and upset that someone has had such a bad experience here, when I have always worked hard to make guests welcome, comfortable and happy. It matters so much to me - this lovely old period house is my life's work and love, and I want nothing more than to see others enjoy it - I take... More

My family have been coming to Connemara for more than ten years and this was our second time staying here and we'll be back again. Great food, lovely room and a wonderful welcome. A must for anyone visiting this part of the country who likes something special.

We want to keep this one a secret ! We don't want the entire world to know how beautiful this place is, it's only for special people ! We spent 5 idyllic nights here and it was superb. The breakfasts were amazing, the beds blissful, you could even hear the gentle plop of trout biting in the river opposite (... More

I have stayed here a few times over the years and it is a wonderful place to stay. If you want to stay in a place with bags of character and atmosphere as I do, then this is the place to go to. The rooms are lovely and you just want to sit by the fire enjoying the atmosphere. It's... More

Beautiful house and grounds, very nice stay. Shower a little small but room was very nice. The twin mattress in my room was a little worn out but other than that liked the place very well. Lynn was nice and I wish I would have had a chance to spend more time in the garden and visiting with the dog... More

We enjoyed three nights at Angler's return and cannot fault the hospitality shown to us by proprietor Lynn Hill. The B&B is beautifully decorated throughout and the gardens are a joy (particularly since we were 'shown around' by the lovely Bonnie). Breakfast was hearty and delicious and even our late and early starts were catered for. The room was comfortable... More

A great place to stay on our first but definitely not last visit to Connemara. A very pretty spot and good location for exploring lots of other gems. The house is full of character, the garden brilliant and Lynn makes sure that you feel completely at home. Was quite happy to curl up in the stting room and read on... More

I've been here twice now and hope to be going back in the next month. The hostess is quite sweet and accommodating and makes a mean breakfast! Many of the rooms share a beautiful large bathroom that boasts a claw-foot tub. There is one room with its own bathroom if that's a problem for you. Each of the guest rooms... More

Can't say enough about our stay at the Anglers Return. Perfectly situated beside the Ballynahinch river, this is the most peaceful retreat! Of all of the places we stayed, we were happy to have stayed for more than a few days here. The hostess, Lynn Hill, is very accommodating, and very knowledgeable about the area. Gardens are beautiful. Rooms very... More
