Great B & B with wonderful hosts. As other reviewers have commented, it is a few minutes walk from downtown and the DART. John had our breakfast prepared early so that we could get to the airport in time to make our flight back to the US. He also provided us with the most clear-cut driving directions that we received... John and Cathy are wonderful B&B hosts. The breakfasts were just right. John saw how my eyes lit up when another client requested mushrooms and made sure I had mushrooms, too. Their home is a lovely Victorian on a quiet street with an easy walk to town center. I felt very comfortable here.

Great B&B, fantastic location (only short walk to the shops, restaurants, bus stops and Dart), very reasonable rates, delicious breakfast and lovely hosts! Definitely THE place to stay in Dun Laoghaire. We will be back :D

I made a late booking for the OPHIRA guesthouse in Dun Llaoghaire and the owners went out of their ay to make my four day stay very pleasant indeed. The room facilities are first class and the Irish breakfast excellent..It is a pleasant Victorian house, built in 1847 and is very close to the town centre with the added bonus... More

The definitive B & B: splendid facilities, generous hosts, excellent breakfasts. It was a grand introduction to Ireland for us - John was an entertaining proprietor and Cathy conjured splendidly varied meals. All the review endorsements are well deserved - we will return to this superior accommodation on our next visit to the Emerald Isle.

End of August we had a one night stay at Ophira's Bed and Breakfast. John was still up at midnight waiting for us, we had a late flight to Dublin, thank You!. The airport bus transfer worked well as described on the home page, just check with the driver to get off at the right place as there is no... More

Friendly, comfortable, convenient...and probably the best breakfast in Ireland! John and Kathy couldn't be more helpful, or more friendly! John even gave us the best way to drive to Newgrange, the neolithic site, missing all the Dublin city center traffic! Everything is within easy walking distance--the waterfront, the Dart, and some really good restaurants! And walking along the promenade to... More

I was traveling with three female family members and was in Ireland for a "gathering" (promotion for Irish families to gather in Ireland) We spent two nights there in their historic house and Kathy and John were very helpful and accomidating. It was within walking distance of the pier and shopping district of Dun Laoghaire. Thanks

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a delight. The location, a quiet side street, was perfect for access to the village. We walked all over town easily and safely. Our hosts recommended a pub nearby for dinner which was a good choice.

First trip to Ireland and boy were we happy to come across this place in the Rick Steve's travel book. They make you feel like you are part of their family. The rooms were very clean, the house is well kept and the breakfasts are great. We would recommend highly!!
