We were attending a family party and decided to book a room for the night, the food and food staff were lovely, but the barmen were horrible, they informed us that there was no residents bar and told us very rudely we could not have a drink to bring to our room. I don't understand why they have to be... more

We stayed here for two nights. I was not inpressed with this hotel. Four star it is not. Staff at reception were not overly friendly especially when we asked for a smoking room...........frowned upon. Rooms was very small and bathroom very very pokey. I knocked my hip on two occasions off the sink going in. You could rest your elbow... more

This hotel is good value for money. Clean, comfortable but with no frills. Ideal for 1 night if you are passing through on business or attending a local event. Check in was efficient, breakfast was basic but tasty. Room was reasonably big and airy. I would stay there again on business but wouldn't be planning on taking a weekend break... more

We were with a group of 48 who were in town as a choir singing in Dublin. The front desk staff was friendly through out the 3 nights we stayed. The room was comfortable and they changed us quickly and easily when we discovered a plumbing problem. The bedding was a little strange to us in that they had duvets... more

Spent two nights in this hotel, it was a rugby weekend and a good atmosphere around. Ate in the bar the first evening and had a meal in the restaurant on the second, the food was top notch, very tasty and well presented. Evening waiting staff were excellent. However, at breakfast both mornings the waiter was very rude and abrupt.... more

My Mother and Aunt stayed at the above hotel last Tue 22/04/08. They are both very elderly and were staying for just two nights. My sister had booked and given her credit card as guarantee. These elderly ladies were asked for their credit card and when they said that the were paying by cash, the receptionist insisted that they pay... more

I arrived at the hotel after a long drive only to be told that I would not be able to use the swimming pool as the Spa closed at 7 p.m. Also, given the distance from the City of Dublin, the tariff was too high (especially when breakfast was not included), and the standard of the room was not 4*... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Rochestown. The room was comfortable and very clean. It had all the usual amenities - hairdryer, coffee/tea, trouser press, iron, TV. The breakfast was excellent and there was a good variety on offer. We ate in the bar on our first night and were pleased with the food. We tried the restaurant the following... more

It's a few months since I stayed here... and whilst there wasn't really anything wrong with the Rochestown Lodge, I can't honestly say I recall that much about my stay. This isn't down to a surfeit of Guinness... just that the hotel whilst 'ok' was only that. Check in was a bit slow, and when I got my key and... more
