The location is great. We walked for miles around Dublin and this was a great place to be to not have to incur the charges of a taxi, etc. Regarding the room, we got there before check-in and were exhausted from the long flight. We asked if there was a room ready and the front desk gal told us it... more

We were a little bit worried about this place because of the bad reviews that we read, but since we could not find anything else, we ended up staying here. Let me just say that I do not regret staying here, the breakfast alone was worth it. Breakfast everyday was a full Irish breakfast which I looked forward to everyday.... more

I suppose I should have gleaned a clue from the sheer number of bed and breakfasts in Lower Gardiner Street, but this area is frankly terrible, with noise (both traffic and human) entering the room from both sides of the building at all hours of the night whether the window is open or closed. I will also echo the sentiments... more

The Avondale House B&B's location is excellent: 5 minutes walking from BusÁras and 15/20 minutes walking to central Dublin. Loads of restaurants, stores and supermarket nearby. Transportation also close by for those who prefer not to walk. Staff was nice and helpful! The rooms were comfortable enough; I've stayed in 2 different ones, both of them were reasonably clean. Beds... more

The service at this guesthouse /B&B was inconsistent. Depending on who was at the desk. The location was very good, the rooms were extremely small. Was very run down, carpets were dirty, the walls were dirty, several of the light switches didn't work and the hot water tap on the sink barley worked. The food was fine..they were very pleasant... more

First of all, the northern part of Dublin is not the best part of town (the Spire on O'Connell Street is called the Big Needle by the locals because of the drug problems in that area). Hence the cheap rates and the hourly police and ambulance sirens which kept us awake all night. The room was located on the street... more

I stayed at Avondale for five nights. I thought it was a very cheap guesthouse, so I expected to have a common bathroom with toilets and showers. But when I came, I had a own shower in my room. The room was basic but comfortable and the towels and sheets were changed every day. The tv worked, and it was... more
