Coming from a hospitality work background I can assure the staff in the Avondale Guesthouse, Dublin that I will never return. Myself and a friend stayed for one night and upon arrival to the hotel the receptionist did not even smile, look at us, just told us the price and then took our money off us. First impressions are always... More

Myself and a friend decided to stay here last Tuesday. We had walked in off the street and it was a busy evening I think there was a football match of some sort on. We were charged 90 euro for the room for the evening, there was only a shared bathroom and the actual condition of the place was unbelievably... More

Where to start... The first thing that hits you in Avondale House is the smell of stale fat. We had a shower cubicle in the room (I've been in a phonebox that was bigger) and a sink which had a missing handle on the hot tap, but the toilets were communal. Our window didn't close properly which meant the room... More

So first off this place was chosen for its price and location both of which were great. Slight mix up upon checking in stating they only had a double not a twin. Expressed not happy about this and thankfully the lady on the desk was able to accommodate us into a twin room. Shared bathroom meant toilets were down the... More

We stayed here for 1 night after arriving in Dublin at about 10pm. The bonus was that it had 24hr reception and wifi in the rooms, the downside our room was directly behind the reception so whenever anyone rang the bell to get inside it was super loud enough in our room as well as the creaky floors. The room... More

The wall in the upstair corridor was molded, there was smell of cicarette smoke in our room, the room was so small that we couldn't keep our two bags open at the same time, the other bed made terrible noise even with a tinyest move, there was a grumpy old man at the reception, whose talk we couldn't understand... Well,... More

Nice double bed, very comfortable, excellent reception staff, very small shower cubicle in room, shared toilet, one for all rooms. No hangars in wardrobe, no luggage space, small sink in room. Breakfast served 0830 but I was leaving early so reception left me cereal, coffee and tea to make my own, which I appreciated. Overall basic but comfortable
