We spent a night recently at The Glen Guesthouse in Gardiner Street in Dublin. Initially I was a bit apprehensive about the address but there were plenty of other guesthouses and pubs in the area. The Glen reception is basic in appearance but you get all the information you need for your stay. We got a room on the second... More

Visited some time ago. Yes, you will not be breathless as in many places the hotel is run down. However, its convenient location and friendly staff can compensate its shortcomings. Ok, for a few day stay!

We stayed for 5 nights in a room for us and our 7 years old daughter. it is 15 minutes walk to Temple Bar area. The room was clean and big enough! milk and coffee were supplied everyday in the room. The bathroom was clean too! Breakfast was perfect, you can choose from several options. The staff was very nice, especially... More

The hotel is divided in two buildings. We were sleeping in the building in the back. The water from the shower and faucet had a really strange, strong smell. The lady from the reception did not notice anything weird about the water and assured us that this was normal. However, when we (after some discussion) moved to a different room... More

Good points - Spotlessly clean, comfy bed and some (but not all) friendly staff. Bad points - Microscopically thin pillows, damaged toilet seat, broken soap holder in shower, damaged bathroom mirror, broken bedroom window, no safe in room, old and worn out door lock, not a single fire escape apart from the door you use to enter the building. Two... More

The hotel is very basic so if you just want a place to sleep at night then it could be ideal as the location is brilliant as it is central. However if you're looking for "something special" then this hotel is probably not for you. The rooms are really small, plus if you have suitcases it makes the room even... More

It's gross. Every time you flush the toilet it screeches for about 2 minutes. Shower is the width of one human, you can hardly turn around. Location is ok, good for the airport bus. Wifi is there but pretty slow. Our biggest problem was that we had to drop the key at the front and there was never any confirmation... More

The place is okay, my boyfriend and I had a room with 3 beds which wasn't very romantic but the bed was quiite comfortable and the room was very warm. The staff weren't extremely friendly but did their job. What I liked the most was the location and the breakfast, they had a menu so you could choose what kind... More
