Excellent location for tourists coming to visit Dublin, close to shopping, landmarks and nightlife. Grafton Street is only a short walk from the hotel which is overlooking the lovely Stephen's Green Park

Spent a couple of nights here and would totally recommend it as a friendly and accommodating hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable with great air conditioning - a must for July 14! The bathroom was massive with bath and separate shower cubicle. The food in the bar/restaurant was splendid - the Hake was moist and perfectly cooked:) and the breakfast... More

My hihusband and I stayed here for 4 nights...three as part of a tour package and then 1 because we had a great experience and were on our own. Special mentions on the staff go out to Victoria, Katie and Juan...Victoria for helping us navigate the reservation process efficiently, Katie for mailing my postcards on her way home from work... On June 20, 2014 we arrived in Ireland, were met by our Guide, given a bus tour of Dublin and about 3:00 pm were taken to our Hotel for a bit of relaxation prior to our welcoming dinner. My wife and I went out for a walk to get our bearings and get familiar with the area. our first encounter... More

A really good location for seeing Dublin on foot, right on the Green and walking distance to Temple Bar but away from the madness. The tram going south runs right outside but doesn't go towards thr city centre yet. The rooms are big for a city centre hotel, the bed was huge and comfy but the skinny pillows were miserable.... We spent a very enjoyable weekend in Dublin while visiting relatives. On arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted by the reception staff who looked after our bags as the room wasn't ready - we were early! The room on the 6th floor was excellent - it was well equipped and was bright and spacious. There is one niggle... More

Couldn't fault this hotel. From the moment we arrived, Victoria on reception made us feel very special - and directed us to a most wonderful restaurant nearby - think it was called the Green Man. The staff really know the area and are happy to share their knowledge. Its a 4 star hotel but with 5-star service and staff -... More

This was a third stay in this hotel and I refuse to stay anywhere else in Dublin. The service is impeccable, the people are beyond friendly and helpful and hotel is simply the best value for money. Stayed on business. A comfortable and handy hotel opposite St Stephen's Green. Big room with all the facilities you need and internet available. Breakfast was good and could be eaten in several different rooms so didn't have to sit with hoards of loud and shrill tourists whilst contemplating the day.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel comprises of two magnificently restored Georgian buildings, with a heritage of great historical and cultural importance to Ireland. One was home to the great Irish playwright, George Fitzmaurice, while 4 Harcourt Street was the birthplace of Lord Edward Carson, one of the founders of Northern Ireland and a central figure in Ireland’s Unionism movement. Entering through the tasteful reception area, guests will be struck by the stunning glass atrium, filling the lobby with natural light and overlooking the idyllic Stephen’s Green park. The stylish interior design throughout the hotel, with wood panelling and soft leather furnishings sitting alongside Georgian stucco ceilings and elegant fireplaces, beautifully showcases the fusion of old and new. George Fitzmaurice is honoured in the hotel through our bar and restaurant, which are named after two of his plays. The ‘Magic Glasses’ Bar is an opulent, comfortable bar where local businesspeople and visitors alike regularly meet over a coffee or drink, while the ‘Pie Dish’ Bistro, set in the bright atrium and the inner rooms of the Georgian houses, serves the finest in contemporary Irish and international cuisine. Located on the first floor, the Georgian library has a charming old-world feel, where you can sit in 19th century surrounds, featuring open fireplaces and chandeliers – an ideal way to unwind over a pre-dinner drink. A gymnasium is available for the exclusive use of residents, while the business centre is open 24 hours, with a secretarial service available for the business guest. Flexibility and choice is a core value of O’Callaghan Hotels. Guests can use the facilities and services of any Dublin O’Callaghan Hotel and have the account conveniently billed back to your room. ... more   less
