I spent a weekend in Dublin and invited my friends from the UK over. I booked the Mercer Court Apartments as I knew the location was excellent but I was in for a shock when I got inside. Firstly, don't confuse the Mercer Court Hotel with the Mercer Court Apartments. The Mercer Court Hotel is lovely but its sister accomodation... more

Just back from the Mercer Court. Have to say we had a great time in Dublin. To start off on a positive note the location could not be better just off Grafton Street, convenient for Trinity College and a few minutes walk or stagger to and from Temple Bar. The sheets and towels were clean The Brazillian guy on reception... more

After staying at the Mercer Court i was horrified when I read the comments below! I would never have stayed there if I had read them and I am glad I did not. I booked the Mercer Court as budget accommodation and paid only €82 a night for a double room. The room was indeed basic but it was also... more

We were disgusted. Mercer Court looks like a prison! The room was uncomfortable, the bed wasn't even made properly, the bathroom was so small I couldn't even take a shower without bumping my elbows (and I'm a petite woman). It was very noisy (even though we closed the windows) as it is quite close to a noisy part of town... more

I recently stayed at Mercer court for the weekend and am more than happy to say I would rather poke my eyes out with a rusty fork than stay there again! On arrival we were told that our rooms were given to other people as there were more of them than expected? Gremlins I thought…they must have multiplied during the... more

Four of us stayed at the Mercer Court for a weekend - originally meant to be 5 of us in total however one was not able to make the weekend due to unforeseen family circumstances. We telephoned the hotel immediately to see if we could cancel her room (we had booked 2 twin rooms and a single) but we were... more

On arriving at Mercer Court "Hotel" (ha ha) we were shown to our room. Having booked this accommodation as a hotel, we were shocked when we entered the building and then opened our room door (after having gone through three other doors that all banged on closing) we were absolutely horrified to see what we had paid quite a bit... more

I stayed in Mercer Court last weekend for 2 nights. We were looking for central accommodation at a good price. I read some of the other reviews of Mercer Court and I think they are unfair. The reservations staff and the websites specify that this is budget accommodation and not a hotel. We got a great rate to stay which... more

This is my account of a recent unpleasant and hugely disappointing stay at room 251, Block A5 of the Mercer Court accommodation in Mercer Street Lower, Dublin between 16th September and 19th September 2005. I had booked this accommodation through Late Rooms which I have used frequently in the past and been impressed with the hotels made available through the... more
