What I imagined from this hotel is a small 1 star hotel with such horrible noise and minimum amenities or whatsoever in the room. 1 star, what do you expect? But all my comprehension was dispelled as soon as I entered the room. I am gonna cover the pros and cons for this hotel. Pros: 1. Room has adequate size.... more

i found this hotel to be cheap and comfy. great location. theres a bar downstairs which can be quite noisy. the rooms were quite basic but i felt very comfortable. most of the staff cant do enough for you. there was one man at reception who was rude loud and ignorant, thankfully he wasnt on the following morning. th rest... more

The bedrooms have gotten a makeover since the last time I stayed there. Rooms painted,Nice new fluffy pillows and modern new bed linen, this is a good budget hotel right within the city centre of Dublin. more

After much research on best places and reasonable price hotels in Dublin, it was turning too expensive for a long weekend away. My wife found this one and I was a little dubious as it was only 1 star, but the reviews were pretty good, compared to more expensive hotels. We were put on the first floor and feared the... more

Decent enough hotel, great location for the price as well, breakfast nice and all the staff that work in the hotel are very friendly indeed, however only issue with the hotel is the noise from the nightclub/late bar on the ground floor, if you are staying on the 1st floor then the noise is completely unbearable!!!! I've just returned from a weekend stay at the Gate Hotel, and it was great. Being one of the only cheap hotels in the city centre of Dublin, the Gate Hotel is a great find. Rooms are clean and of a decent size, and the breakfast was nice. The noise from the rock bar downstairs wasn't a problem (we had... more

We were staying in Dublin for a long weekend, mainly to visit a few tourist sites and see the city so we really only wanted a place to sleep and rest and the Gate was ideal for this. The standard of the room was not great, a lillte grubby but comfortable! The room was huge and had 3 double beds,... more

This was our first trip to Dublin, and we were traveling on a tight budget. This was the cheapest hotel we could find with decent reviews that was centrally located. It's 5-10 minutes walk from the CityLink bus stop, less than 5 minutes from the Hop-on/Hop-off bus tour stop #1 [--], just 10 minutes walk to Temple Bar, and maybe... more

My friend and I have just returned from a long weekend in Dublin staying at the Gate Hotel, Parnell Street for 3 nights. We arrived earlier than our check in time and thought we would see if our room was ready, on arrival we were abit nervous about the area and the outside of the hotel doesn't do it any... more

I booked this hotel through Gulliver, which I think is one of the best websites if you look for an hotel in Ireland. You can also find good deals if you book last minute. Gate hotel has a good location, even if next time I would stay closer to the river, but it is a bit noisy(we had a room... more
