We had rented a car at the airport and it was not easy to access the hotel because there were many one way streets and not much parking nearby. The hotel offered us cheap parking in a nearby lot once we actually checked in, which was easy. The reception was fine - there seemed to be lots of instructions to... more

Me and 3 of my friends stayed in this hotel overnight at the beginning of June. We had originally booked a double and a triple room, however due to one girl dropping out we asked if we could swap to 2 double rooms, this was not a problem and the staff were really kind. Rooms are slightly old fashioned, however... more

Just returned after spending 2 nights at the Abbott lodge for the bank holiday. Our room (106) was on the same level as the reception but right at the end of the corridor so no noise from traffic from the very busy road, only from noisey guests hammering on doors at 4am to be let in to the room next... more

In a long row of dingy hostels. No elevator. Narrow, creaky stairs. Dirty carpet. Tiny rooms. Extremely overpriced for what it is. more

This was our first trip to Dublin and was my husband's Birthday present. We chose this guesthouse as the photos and description on the website made it seem a lovely, homely place. Instead, what we found was a run down, tatty house, with none of the comforts of home. Our ‘double’ room (number 120) was little more than a single... more

I've been in Dublin for 5 nights, slept two in the Bunkhouse and three in the Abbott Lodge. The rooms were huge, very clean, a bit old fashioned but at the same time very friendly and warm. You felt like at your grand-parents place - at least if you have such a good relationship with yours as I have. the... more

I booked this guesthouse online via EuroBookings.com on the 15/11/08 for my stay on the 5/12/08. On arrival at the guesthouse on 5/12/08 at 23h00, the very unhelpful and unprofessional receptionist could not find our booking anywhere! He was in the process of denying any booking until I produced my email confirmation. He eventually found a room but insisted that... more

We had one last night to stay in Dublin after traveling through Ireland. Wanted to stay someplace easy on the budget and thought this would work. The front is nice looking - nothing fancy, but clean. Once in the room, the carpet was dirty, the beds were old enough that the springs were almost poking through, the sheets on one... more

I have just arrived back from a three day two nights stay in Dublin City with two friends. I booked the abbott lodge via a web site but had researched the hotel via tripadvisor. The room we where given was at the back of the hotel and had enough room for five people with a small en-suite. There was a... more

The Abbott Lodge is located only 5 mins from the sphere in O'Connell St, very near to where the airport buses drop you off. Temple Bar is just over the river and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants on the way! Most bars have live music in the evenings. The guest house is quite small, and a good price... more
