Was pleasantly surprised overall when arriving, as it was nicer than what I was imagining based on other reviews. Yes it wasn't perfect, but some cracking wall isn't bothering me. The bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely. However, they seemed to advertise free wifi, but it does reach most of the rooms so that's really a lie. Also,... More

We were put on the very very top floor (the only room at this level. Cramped lodgings, hot, the toilet was half under the sink in the bathroom. The sheets were not clean, one bed had makeup stains on the linens while the other had blood stains. Avoid this place if you can!

The location great. The Abbot Lodge is easy walking distance to O'Connell Street and the Temple Bar area. The rooms are quite small and service a bit poor for the price. They also don't turn the heat on until 6pm which is a bit disappointing when it is cold cold cold. All in all it was an okay stay but... More

We felt our very quiet room (106) was a good value for a hotel near city center. It was clean and though the bath was small, it was similar to many we've had in Italy. Toilet, shower and hair dryer worked well and the mattress was comfortable. There were plugs available for charging 2 phones and a computer or camera battery.... More

Small basic clean room suitable for travellers who don't spend free time at the hotel. There was a bedside table lamp on one side of the bed only. The bed was OK. It is not possible to comment on the warmth of the room because the weather was unseasonably warm during our visit. En suite is small but serviceable. There... More

To be fair it is a pretty decent price for being in the city centre but I felt like if we had actually been welcomed a bit I wouldn't have been as bothered about the lumpy bed or the hosepipe shower lol. The guy that welcomed us didn't even say hello just some comment about the door then an awkward... More

If you are visiting Dublin then I would expect that you would not be spending much time in your room. The room I had at Abbott Lodge was ideal and great value. The room was clean and functional although the bathroom could have done with being a bit larger.

Where to begin; very uncomfortable bed, (i'm guessing the mattress was 20 years old), hair dryer broken, remote for TV held together by tape, television was not working, hot water not working properly, toilet came unseated and I nearly fell over mid use (not kidding), several broken bathroom tiles on floor and walls. Room had an overall dirty feel, the... More

We stayed here our first two nights of ten days in Ireland, it was cheap 170 Euro for a Thursday and Friday night. It definitely did not live up to our expectations. There were obvious stains on the bedding, the remote was taped together. The room was quite dated and dusty. We carried around everything of value for fear it... More

I needed a last minute reservation and this one ticked quite a few boxes. Nicely located in the guesthouse hub of Lower Gardiner Street it is not far at all from main shops and o'connell street. It's great for one night stay in Dublin City centre. Bathroom lovely, tiled white and squeaky clean. Shower was a bit tiny so it... More
