This is an old hotel with great bones, but that could use some updating. It's hard to beat the location, near (but thankfully not in) the Temple Bar district, with great shopping, pubs and restaurants all around in every direction. Front desk staff were courteous and promptly replaced my key card when the one I had stopped working. If I... More

The plusses: it is in a very central location. You are minutes away from Grafton Street, Trinity College and lots of pubs/restaurants. The minuses: Dublin is an old city with old buildings. This is one. The rooms are small. We had to leave the window open for some ventilation and the street below was a bit loud early in the... More

Ideal if youre looking for a decent hotel in the centre of Dublin for a weekend break. Looks a bit dated, but I think thats the whole idea. Decor and mod cons are dated, shower was a bit dodgy (would be very hot one second and freezing the next), but room was clean enough otherwise. Our room was directly above... More

Do not trust internet photos of this hotel! From start to finish it was bad As the previous reviewers have said it was grubby, tired, run-down and dirty. I didn't read the reviews before I left as I was booking at the last minute and was just glad to find a room in Dublin that weekend. If only I had!... More

The Grafton Capital Hotel looked great in the promotional photos...it was silly of me not to have taken time to read the reviews all of which tell a very different story from that which is advertised....and it was embarrassing, as our short break in Dublin had been a b'day gift from myself to my partner. I had to show him... More

This hotel met our expectations - a nice, clean, somewhat average hotel in a great location for walking to key attractions in Dublin. It is reasonably priced which makes up for some of the shortcomings that others mention in their reviews. Our room was quite spacious (it was a mini-suite) and street noise was not a problem (though we stayed... More

Myself and my husband went here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary on the June bank holiday weekend. When we booked I loved the pictures on the website of the bar which was called Break For The Border. We went to the 3 arena for a concert. When it was over we decided to make our way back to the... The hotel not only did not meet expectations it fell horribly below standards of the 21st century. It is in dire need of refurbishment. Wifi is only available on the first floor (the restaurants) and then only in certain locations of the floor. The walls are all dirty and in need of a new coat of paint. Sheets have holes... More

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at the Grafton Capital and that was 3 nights too long. When you walk into the reception area, it looks like you're visiting a hostel. Dark, old and dingy so first impression wasn't the best. Also, the girls working the front desk were friendly but no one gave us a map! This was... More
