I was surprised by the previous negative comments. This is my second stay at the Citywest and on both occassions I have had a very good experience. We arrived late after travelling and were greeted with a friendly smile. The check-in procedure was painless enough. The Citywest is a big hotel but the walk to the room was worth it.... more

This is a big old-style conference hotel, a good 20-30 minute's drive outside of Dublin. There's not a whole lot to do nearby, but that was OK. We had a rental car and drove into Dublin several times without any major incident (though judging from the miles of outbound commuter traffic one day, I wouldn't want to get caught in... more

First impressions as you enter the long drive are "wow". The grounds are lovely and there were a couple of helicopters parked up. I thought "this place has got to be really top end". The reception is nice and the front desk staff excellent. In fact, all the staff were great, especially the chap in charge at breakfast time, he... more

Huge hotel, 1500 rooms I think. The room was huge so we could barely see the television from the bed, it was also freezing on arrival. Furniture was very dated. Bed was very comfortable, breakfast delivered to the room was beautiful and staff helpful and friendly. No breafast delivery at weekends. I was trying to sleep in but unfortunately maintenance... more

I stayed in the hotel for a week and in the end there are some pros and cons. Pros: - Unlimited access to a huge gym. They also give you a lock and a towel. Tons of machines, classes and also a swimming pool. - The included breakfast is also quite big and very good - except the orange juice.... more

Stayed at the citywest for a conference nearby. While i was not expecting much, I was impressed by the location, and feeling of seclusion throughout the hotel(despite it being adjacent to the N7). Check in was pretty poor, conveyer belt style of these large hotels, and the room was very old fashioned. However, it was comfortable and quiet. Food was... more

This is a very good but very big hotel, and was crowded due to some conference thing going on. However this should not deter bookings as the decor, staff, food, facilities are pretty good, even if the weights area of the gym is a tad antiquated. For the price its a gem. more

I stayed in this hotel as I attended a conference. It's a tad far out from the city centre if you're relying on public transport or taxis, but the hotel itself is full of life, bars, restaurants and tonnes of people flowing around. It has a great atmosphere and the room I was given in the new Palmerstown wing was... more
