Stayed here for a weekend away to see a concert in Dublin. Emailed a few times to Alan & Maria witha few queries and they always responded quickly and where very helpful. We arrived late on the Friday night from airport and was greeted by Maria and given a walm welcome. Room was pleasant and quiet, with a lounge on... more

I stayed here recently and was quite disappointed with the Almara B&B. Firstly all the times they give on their site for how close the Almara is (which is the reason I chose this place) to the city centre, airport etc is very exaggerated. It's not 8 mins to town, it's an easy 20 minutes by bus. There are no... more

My husband, 2 children (12 & 14) and I stayed at Almara for 2 nights. While we were initially a little disappointed at the distance from the city we quickly realised there was a bus at the door and the trip was only 15 minutes. The hosts Alan & Maria were friendly and provided us with all the information we... more

It is with sadness I write this review! For the past two years I have enjoyed the hospitality and comfort of Almara as I studied part time in the local Dublin City University. From faciliating an early breakfast to a clean pleasant room, to enjoyable conversations and wonderful knowledge, it was a real pleasure to have stayed three nights every... more

Alan was very friendly and warm from the first moment we stepped inside the B & B. He was extremely informative and accommodating...even going so far as to help find a dentist when we had a dental emergency. Our room was cozy and perfectly suitable for our brief one-night stay, and we even were upgraded at no extra charge. Having... more

We choose Almara for our last night in Dublin because we had to take a very early flight, and were not disappointed. Alan was very friendly and made us feel at home, even packed a "take away breakfast" for us. The B&B was only 8 mins. away from the airport by taxi. The room was basic but cosy. The house... more

The location was ok, short bus ride to City Center except bus did not run Sunday morning; room was small, very plain, bed inadequate, breakfast did not overwhelm by US standards. No amenities (computer, phone, clock,tv). Host very knowlegable and place was clean and pleasant. more

Almara's B&B was an average choice for a B&B. The room and bathroom were a little dingy but the location was good. The breakfast was good and the host was informative. more

Let me start by saying that the breakfast was great. There was no TV in the room and the shower grout and trim had mold. The tile was nice but the mold bothered me. My moms bathroom had lots of mold but she spoke to Alan about it and he cleaned hers before she returned. We stayed as we entered... more

Stayed here in May 2007 and can only echo all the positive remarks that have been made about the location, value and hosts. We had an excellent and relaxing stay overall. The location is great, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were fantastic. Great value for the money and would highly recommend this B&B to travelers visiting... more
